OnePlus X review - now completely invite-free

This is a shame, especially after the excellent camera on the OnePlus 2 , and it rather brings down the handset as a whole. The OnePlus X has a lovely screen, great build quality and excellent battery life, but when its performance levels are roughly on par with other smartphones in this price...

OnePlus X Onyx

If you really care about buying a good looking smartphone on a budget, then the OnePlus X is the best that you can get right now. On the other hand, if you want top of the line, uncompromised performance, then the Asus Zenfone 2 is a better buy.

Good looking; Well built; Good camera

Glass on both sides; Snapdragon 801 is outdated; Power users won't like the battery life

Since its first launch, OnePlus has successful in marking a strong position in the market with its smartphones (One and Two). And this time, the China-based smartphone maker decided to present something special for the mid-income buyers- a phone encased in an all sumptuous metal and laden with...

Idyllic Design; Decent Camera; Bright Display; Good Performer; Competitive price

Hybrid SIM Slot restricts 2 SIM usage with SD card; Average Sound Performance; Suffered a bit from Lags while Gaming (Racing Games

OnePlus X review: Great design and display; but camera and battery life disappoint

OnePlus is a relatively new phone maker to have come onto the global scene. But within a year of its launching the OnePlus One, the Chinese phone maker has been on the radar of not just the Android-modding crowd but also regular users who want an affordable phone with high end specification set.

When OnePlus founder and CEO Carl Pei first showed off the new X in our Manhattan office, I was impressed. Nice glass design, kind of a hybrid iPhone/Xperia look. The textbook definition of "premium." But it's really what he said next that got me. "It's 250 bucks." Wait.....what?

The look; People have describe the OnePlus X as an iPhone 5 look alike and honestly, I don't see it; I think OnePlus has added enough of its own personality to make it stand out, especially in the sub $300 range

When you really scrutinize the spec sheet; there is a lot missing you might actually want: NFC; fingerprint reader; 5GHz wifi support; only 16GB onboard storage (with expandable storage but without Android flex storage); and USB Type-C.

The OnePlus X is probably the first time that OnePlus has really deviated from their design language. Yes, the OnePlus 2 was different from the OnePlus One in a few obvious ways but the basic shape, ergonomics etc remained quite similar.

Brilliant Display; Great Ergonomics and Design; Good Build Quality; Hybrid Dual SIM Slot; No Overheating

Slippery Back; No Backlighting for Capacitive Keys; No Dual Band WiFi and 802.11 ac Standard Support; Feeble Loudspeaker

OnePlus had recently launched the X smartphone in India. The OnePlus X is using the same hardware that was/is used on the OnePlus One handset. It's the Snapdragon 801, outdated, yet quite powerful. But what makes the X unique is the design.

OnePlus came out of nowhere last year with its sensational flagship killer , the OnePlus One , which offered high-end smartphone specifications at a third of the price most tier one brands would command. This year the company launched the OnePlus 2 , which received mixed reviews .

Our OnePlus X review\n

OnePlus managed to make a great phone at an even lower price, but in this case you absolutely have to settle.

Great screen; Simple software; Good performance; Great value

Weak camera; Below average battery life; Glass back is slippery; Poor AT&T compatibility

OnePlus X review: Most stylish smartphone at this?price

OnePlus X: For those on a budget, this a good option as a phone that is more stylish and compact than its competitors

The most impressive feature has to be the design, which makes this one of the sexiest smartphones in this price band; But frankly, this is one thing you could expect from OnePlus, this one thing they have done well consistently with all three of their phones so far.

The OS is a bit too plain vanilla for my liking and reminded me too much of
