One Plus says the Nord is "pretty much everything you could ask for". That's a big call but this 5G phone certainly delivers plenty of fantastic features.

Nice to look at and scroll through

The Nord has an impressive 6.44-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate that allows for smoother scrolling and sharper swiping.

Great shots back and front

The Nord is already receiving acclaim for the excellent shots from its camera set up: 48 + 8 +5 + 2MP rear cameras, with 32 + 8MP front cameras. What stands out are the 48MP primary sensor which comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS) to eliminate blur and shake, while the 32MP primary front camera includes advanced image processing smart features for clear and detailed selfies.

Bright, brighter, brightest

A noteworthy feature of the Nord is the 2,048 levels of automatic brightness for smoother brightness transitions and enhanced eye comfort.  This is evident whether you're checking social media or browsing a web page.

Faster than before

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform that powers the Nord improves CPU speeds and delivers 30% faster graphic rendering than its predecessor. The 8GB of RAM is more than enough to run all your favourite apps at once, and in seamless style.

Charging at warp speed

Warp Charge 30T can refill Nord from 0 to 70% in just half an hour and, as an important bonus, it will even keep your phone cool during heavy use.

Oneplus Nord Dual SIM 5G (8GB RAM, 128GB, Gray) - BRAND NEW review

The OnePlus Nord is a solid all-around device for its price and offers features that would typically be reserved for a flagship. The only major issue is that this Nord model won’t be making its way to North America any time soon.

  • Great 90Hz display, Quick performance (thanks to 12GB of RAM), Fast 30W fast wired charging, Marble Blue colour looks great, The design of the phone makes it feel more premium, All-day battery life and great standby time
Cons:
  • This Nord model won’t be coming to North America, No wireless charging or official IP rating

OnePlus Nord 8+128GB Blue Marble MP 04042 review

What OnePlus has quite expertly done is make a phone that doesn't leave you pining for a greater experience - and you might even be grateful you saved the price difference by opting not to go for an 8 series. Because who really needs a pricey flagship anyway?
Pros:
  • Large and flat AMOLED panel
  • 30W fast-charging
  • Oxygen OS is fast and fluid
  • 90Hz refresh rates
  • 5G capable
  • Great battery life
Cons:
  • Plasticky edges
  • More cameras than there needs to be
  • Launch is restricted to a couple of regions

  • Fluid Oxygen OS experience
  • Value-for-money

OnePlus Nord 8+128GB Blue Marble MP 04042 review

It’s hard to argue with the OnePlus Nord’s value proposition and this once again begs the questions of why you’d pay more for a phone anymore. This could easily be a five-star device if it had a true standout feature, but it’s still easy to recommend as one of the best cheap phones around.
Pros:
  • Great quality OLED panel
  • Very quick charging
  • Lovely version of Android
  • Nice
  • ergonomic design
  • 5G and great performance
Cons:
  • Screen seems to mark very easily
  • Secondary cameras are pretty much useless

OnePlus Nord 8+128GB Blue Marble MP 04042 review

Don’t feel that you need to spend a fortune for your next phone. Don’t feel that you need to go with the most heavily-advertised brand either. The OnePlus Nord is a top quality smartphone. Ignore the price.
