This one is a Winner!
I moved up from an Olympus PL2 to this PL5. The added technology of larger sensor, tilt LCD screen, touch focus/shutter, are vast improvements to increate your photographic creativity. I had to give up the pop up flash on the PL2, but a little external fill flash unit IS included in the kit.
Pros:
- Easy to Use
- Fast Shutter Speed
- Good Battery Life
- Great image stabilization
- Large Clear LCD
- Small / Compact
Cons:
- Complicated Controls

A aps-c equivalent quality but in the size of a 4/3 camera is nothing more I can ask for from olympus.

Amazing camera - wish they stocked it in stores
Great camera for the size and price. The kits lens works fine for daily use and the focus is really fast. I'm also using it with the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8 lens to shoot theater performances and it's a great combination.
Pros:
- low light
- fast focus
- bright LCD
- compact but capable
Cons:
- Need to find SCP to easy control

A big thank you to Photo John for his posts, other mirrorless camera comparisons and giving me the confidence to make the purchase. I am a happy Olympus E-PL5 user! I also agree with Megan's closing review comments here: http://reviews.photographyreview.com/olympus-e-pl5-review-cuba/4 She states,...
Pros:
- • Price is about half of the OM-D EM-5
- but with many of the same same features and amazing sensor found in this model (Photography Review's Photo John top camera of 2012 - http://reviews.photographyreview.com/2012-camera-of-the-year-olympus-om-d-e-m5
- • Compact design
- flip up screen
- • Intelligent
Cons:
- • Hot shoe flash doesn't have a big/powerful range (would have also preferred a pop-up
- • Charger unit should be smaller and wall mounted
- • Lacks a viewfinder

This is my walk-around camera. I am a Nikon guy but my SLR is a pig and I wanted something smaller. For the longest time I hesitated to go the four thirds route because of the smaller sensor but I got over it. This is a wonderful camera. It's small, light and solidly built.

Awesome!
I am a novice when it comes to cameras, digital or otherwise. All of the other reviews, seemed to be speaking French, at least for a novice, like me. So I decided it would be a good idea for me to write a review from the "novice" perspective.

small, quick auto-focus, moveable LCD, half the price of OM-D, good results
this is an excellent camera. this camera beats everything in size and in picture quality. if you want small camera to take around and do not want to give up on quality and all the options then there is nothing better than this. I use mine with voigtlander 15mm f/4 and results are stunning.

If only I could afford another!
A great lightweight system camera. Very quick from switch-on to being ready to take a picture. Love the flipable viewing screen helps to eliminate glare and helps to change camera angle without having to get yourself into awkward positions.
Pros:
- Great Features
- Great Picture Quality
- Lightweight
Cons:
- None

Amature Photographer
Prior to purchasing this camera, I was shooting with a Canon T3i. I have now put the T3i away and find myself taking this little camera with me. Once you turn the warm feature off, this camera takes the best pictures I've ever seen.
