Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6
Gary Wolstenholme reviews the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6, a telephoto zoom lens for Four Thirds system compatible cameras.- Excellent value for money
- Excellent sharpness
- especially in the centre
- Lightweight and compact
- Focuses close for a telephoto zoom
- Fast AF
- A lens hood would make this lens perfect for the price (although it is very resistant to flare anyway
Olympus 40-150mm f/4-5.6 ED M.Zuiko Digital
Just got this a couple of days ago. It's great for portraits, and for nearer objects at mid focal range, it's terrifically sharp. However, zoomed out on distant objects, I found it didn't resolve very well.- cheap
- light
- at some focal lengths very sharp
- due to length can have nice blur at times
- although sometimes rough
- feels flimsy
- zooms out ridiculously long
- AF (on E-PM1) useless for moving objects
great lens
It's been a month since I got the lens and I have really been enjoing it. I contemplated which one to get for a long time and I'm not disappointed. I'm not a pro but the picture quality is amazing, especially outside.
Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 40-150mm 1:4-5.6 ED R MSC - Review / Test Report
The construction of the lens is basic as to be expected from an affordable, consumer-grade lens. The lens body is made entirely of plastic down to the lens mount which is also why the lens is extremely light-weight at just 190g.
Olympus 40-150mm f/4-5.6 ED M.Zuiko Digital review by Ocean
small and handy but I am not used to the extreme cheap-construction Level without lens hood and every few month I got dust between the lenses Optics are good - the first half year, with a bit to much CA. With weekly practice it's getting worse. The price is to high, it's just a cheap-starter Zoom.- to expensive for the quality
- CA
- no metall
- cheap plastics
Just dove into micro 4/3rd pool..didn't hurt. Lost a lot of weight though.
Cameta listed as mfr refurbished......Arrived in Original Olympus lens box with both caps and was indistinguishable from new. Works as intended. Put on a micro 4/3 Pen camera, and I'm liking the light weight and fine pix vs DSLR bag bulk. Left Olympus for Canon in summer 1975 and now I'm back.
Great Lens
I find this lens great to get those shots where a little more zoom goes a long way.- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
Excellent value.
I purchased this particular lens for the zoom range producing a fast sharp focussed image. It does what it says on the 'tin', lightweigh, compact and easy to carry around. A lens which does what it sets out to do. I would also recommend this lens for portrait use.- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Quick Focus
- Sharp Focus
