Odin Sphere is framed narratively as a series of books read by a little girl called Alice with her cat Socrates, in a delightfully presented opening sequence of her picking a book to read, each revolving around one of five protagonists.

A highly successful remake that fixes the technical and design flaws of the original and turns it into one of the year's best looking action role-players.
Some of the best 2D graphics ever, with some stunning art design; Enjoyable combat system, with plenty of upgrade options and some great boss battles
The inventory can still be a pain to deal with and the platforming's not much fun; Story structure and map design does encourage a little too much repetition
What happens when you mix Norse mythology, fairy tales and fantasy If you add a dash of humor and a lot of creativity and give the mix a big shake, you might just end up with Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir.
Gamers who don't connect with the story may find the experience too repetitive and overlong, but those who love 2D brawlers and these colorful characters will find a lot to love in Odin Sphere Leifthrasir.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir tells a truly intriguing tale through multiple perspectives. The gameplay is easy to grasp while still providing strategic depth, and the gameplay is varied and appropriately challenging. I would highly recommend this game.
Having never owned a PlayStation 2, I had a ton of catching up to do when I finally got a PlayStation 3 and discovered PS2 classics. Heck, two of my favourite games of all time -- Persona 4 and Final
Stunning visuals; Sublime combat; Memorable story and characters; Original game with upgraded visuals included
Repetitive stages across characters; Some slow down on Vita under extreme conditions
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is interesting in that it made quite a few updates that make if feel and play much better but those improvements make it line up with the memories you had of it and not what it actually was. It is now a much better game, but still feels a tad bit antiquated.
