Nokia N8 Pink

Just a few months after releasing its flagship multimedia mobile of 2010, Nokia has released a new and very pink version of the N8.
Pros:
  • Good finish
  • design and handling
  • Takes very good photos with plenty of editing options
  • Audio and video quality
  • Phone and GPS: good network reception / free maps
  • FM radio and translitter
  • voice recorder
  • plenty of connections (HDMI
Cons:
  • Screen: poor colour fidelity
  • Symbian Anna interface: better but still quite convoluted
  • The OS could be more responsive and smooth

Nokia N8 review

With the N8, Nokia has seemingly thrown all the tech it can think of at the new handset in a bid to rival the likes of Android and the iPhone – a 12MP camera with ‘proper' Xenon flash, XVID and DIVX support, HD video capture, Dolby Mobile sound and an HDMI-out port are just the tip of the iceberg.
Pros:
  • 12MP camera
  • HDMI port
  • Ovi Maps
Cons:
  • Symbian^3 still seems archaic
  • It's not the thinnest handset
  • Messaging is something of a chore

Nokia N8 Review: In Depth

The Nokia N8 is a seriously powerful smartphone with some great features such as the 12-megapixel camera and the HDMI-out capabilities. However we feel there's much room for improvement on the user interface side of things and the web browser could do with a serious overhaul.

Nokia N8 review

Nokia has had it rough lately. But with the feature-packed N8, the Finnish handset maker has finally earned a spot at the cool kids table, just not at the head of said table. The N8 delivers most of what we've come to expect from a flagship smartphone.
Pros:
  • Sleek design
  • Decent multimedia playback
  • Video chat-ready with a front-facing VGA camera
  • Mini-HDMI port pumps out video and Dolby Digital Plus audio.
Cons:
  • Competitive with the Pros (iPhone
  • Android
  • Windows Phone 7)
  • but clearly won't convert the entrenched.

Nokia N8 smartphone

The Nokia N8 fails to deliver a satisfying smartphone experience. An excellent camera and great multimedia features aren't enough to excuse the N8's...
Pros:
  • 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash
  • HDMI-port and USB On-The-Go
  • Superb luminium design
Cons:
  • Sluggish performance
  • Clunky UI and ultimately poor user experience
  • Comparatively poor Web browsing experience

Nokia N8 (Unlocked)

The Nokia N8 is an amazing mobile device, that's nearly unusable thanks to its interface. The phone is a perfect display of Nokia's strengths and weaknesses: stellar hardware, combined with an OS that appears to have been designed ten years ago.
Pros:
  • Excellent voice quality
  • Strong battery life
  • Spectacular 12-megapixel camera
Cons:
  • User interface is abysmal

Why Nokia's beautiful N8 flagship phone is a let down

In the current era of iPhones, Desires and BlackBerrys it can be hard to remember that Nokia is still a dominant brand in the mobile phone market. Its latest, the N8, is a very determined effort by the Finnish company to product a flagship handset that can rival the mindshare of the likes of HTC and...

Even though new OS update to Symbian Belle has fixed some problems (like full support to visualize Asian characters is now included) and some new features were added (i.e.more home screens can be added now) I totally agree with the final sentence of the review, N8 is not a recommendable mobile.
Pros:
  • Camera
  • hardware
Cons:
  • All the rest

Overall we have been surprised. We expected a reworked on N97 and it is not the case. The N8 promises real and not just for its specifications. In use, we really felt that Nokia is making efforts, especially in terms of responsiveness, and that's great.
