Nokia N8, Does it Live Up to the Expectations?
Nokia's N-Series is back with a bang. The N8 is finally here and comes with a promise of revitalizing Nokia's high-end segment with its funky new age look, updated OS and whatever else comes with that.

Nokia N8 review
Nokia's reputation as a leader in the smartphone market has been under increasing pressure in recent years, as a string of 'high end' handsets have failed to capture the minds and wallets of the phone-buying public.

Nokia N8 in-depth review -
By its very own high standards, it's been a quite year for Nokia. The Finnish heavyweight has been churning out mid-range, rather than high-end handsets, an approach that had some questioning the manufacturer's credibility.
Pros:
- The camera is the best we?ve ever come across on a mobile phone
Cons:
- While no slow coach
- the processing speed fails to live up to similarly billed handsets

N8: Nokia almost delivers a really great phone
The N8 is a great piece of hardware, with very functional, albeit somewhat annoying, software and user interface. If you love Nokia, or love tweaking a device to your exact preferences because you expect to use it as a loyal and useful tool for the next two to three years,...
Pros:
- It must provide powerful messaging capabilities
- basic document editing
- Web browsing
- and multimedia (music and camera
- mostly
- although video output is welcome for weekends away).
Cons:
- It’s inconsistent
- In some apps you can do pinch/spread with multi-touch, in some apps you can both pinch or use the +/- rocker switch on the side, in some apps you can just use the rocker.

- Why not pick a standard and stick to it?

Nokia N8
The other reviewer with the suspected motherboard failure should try replacing the battery which is an easy job with a t5 driver. Even if your existing battery registers a voltage it may be faulty. This happened to me after 14 months, thought I had a brick but a new battery revived the old girl.
Pros:
- Tough device, very adaptable, underrated, excellent GPS software (will even give you ordinates, have used to create GIS layers), gets a bit warm with heavy use, especially when using as a wifi hub
- Great images I have blown up onto large canvasses
- Radio transmitter a bonus.
Cons:
- Software could be better, but could be a whole lot worse too
- Nokia need to do a better customer support job in the Americas
- I used them in Europe for years and am dissapointed with support stateside
