Nokia N8
Thanks to the iPhone raising the bar for touch screen smartphones several years ago, the Nokia N8 faces some stiff competition. If you're currently a Nokia person, you'll likely enjoy the N8. It's a solid high-end Nokia with great voice, a fantastic camera and a vivid AMOLED capacitive display.
Pros:
- Exceptional camera
- responsive and vibrant touch screen
- good battery life
- Superb camera
- vibrant multi-touch display
- modern OS
- great battery life
- excellent call quality
- has 3G for all GSM networks
- lots of internal storage plus a microSD card slot
- can play Flash video
Cons:
- The OS is a solid rebirth of Symbian that's made for touch
- but there's nothing that pushes it ahead of iOS and Android
- OS is modern but not captivating
- phone sometimes lags
- browser is sometimes sluggish
- battery isn't user replaceable
- Ovi Maps navigation is weird in the US

Nokia N8 review Review
The Nokia N8 looks fantastic on paper, but Symbian 3 is frustrating to use compared to competing smart-phone operating systems. A slick case and great camera help to make this the best Nokia touchscreen phone ever, but it's just not fun to use.
Pros:
- Funky good looks
- 12-megapixel camera can challenge a compact snapper
- Responsive capacitive touchscreen
Cons:
- Software is confusing and frustrating in places
- Fewer apps available than with rival phones
- Poor social-networking integration

The Nokia N8 is a brilliant handset and is one of the best smartphones we've reviewed in a long time. Symbian^3 is a great OS and is worthy of some series attention - watch out Android, Nokia might just have got its groove back!
Pros:
- Well designed
- brilliant OS
- tons of features
- amazing camera and video
- masses of storage
- browser with Flash
- HDMI
- easy to use
- top notch touchscreen
Cons:
- Non-removable battery & only has 3 homescreens

Overall we have been surprised. We expected a reworked on N97 and it is not the case. The N8 promises real and not just for its specifications. In use, we really felt that Nokia is making efforts, especially in terms of responsiveness, and that's great.

Followers of Nokia will know well enough that the Finnish manufacturer hasn't come out with any ground-breaking smartphones for sometime.
