Nokia E7
There's no point beating about the bush, the Nokia E7 is in a funny old situation. Nokia has essentially put the brakes on developing the Symbian software upon which it runs, in favour of using Windows Phone for its future smartphones.
Pros:
- Beautiful design
- Incredibly well built
- Superb sliding keyboard
- Decent camera for non close-ups
Cons:
- Slow interface
- Clunky
- confusing interface
- Poor default app selection
- Fewer apps in app store than competition

Nokia E7
Business users and messaging junkies could get good use out of the E7, though we can't say it'd be our first choice for either purpose. Nokia's Symbian platform feels sluggish compared with the leanness of iOS, Android and BlackBerry OS, and the phone needs a fair bit of customisation before...
Pros:
- Great design
- Splendid AMOLED display
- Loads of connectivity
Cons:
- Sluggish performance
- Confusing UI elements
- Fixed-focus camera
- Average battery life

Nokia E7 review Review
The Nokia E7's good looks reeled us in, but it doesn't have the brains to keep us interested. Symbian just feels more and more confusing as competing software becomes slicker, and this, together with the hesitant user interface, means the E7 is no fun to use, even if it is packed with features.
Pros:
- Magnificent metal case
- Cool sliding keyboard
- Decent camera
Cons:
- Hesitant
- jerky user interface
- Confusing in places
- Few apps compared to competitors

Nokia E7 review
If beauty were only screen deep, the Nokia E7 series would stand a good chance in a Miss Handset competition, even up against the likes of the iPhone 4 , HTC Desire S and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc .

We first had a serious glimpse of the business-centric Symbian^3 based E7 at last year's Nokia World event , where it was unveiled to be the heir to an earlier Nokia 9000 Communicator. Now in the midst of grand restructuring and mergers (Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform, anyone?

- Sturdy and well-constructed
- Beautiful 4.0-inch AMOLED screen
- Substantial physical QWERTY keyboard
Cons:
- On the pricey side

- No SD memory card slot
- Complicated Symbian OS

Nokia E7 review
It's the best Nokia phone yet, but now more than ever, buying a Symbian phone is filled with peril
Pros:
- Stunning build
- connectivity
Cons:
- Symbian is still Symbian

But I'm still unconvinced as to why Nokia persists with Symbian? After all, the Finnish phone maker has said it will go with the Microsoft Windows 7 OS, so why would they release what looks and feels like a great new handset and have it running on an OS that although stable, is at the same time not...
