Nokia E7

Because the new Nokia E7 is full of features and style, looks like it will gain a lot of success. Its design is impressive, but the Symbian 3.0 OS seems to be really outdated.

Symbian Belle is extremely unstable, the phone keeps shutting down randomly and it also lags like hell. Takes about 3 reboots before it sort of starts working like it's supposed to. Also the battery lasts from a day to 3 hours (in active use).
Pros:
  • Slide out keyboard
  • big screen
Cons:
  • Symbian Belle
  • processor power
  • RAM
  • bad battery
  • no SD card slot
  • lack of available apps

Design flaw

I also have a Nokia N8 (two different charging ports which include micro usb) and Nokia N9 (micro usb charging port). Both of them do not have the design flaw of usb charging port not being properly reinforced to interior motherboard.
Pros:
  • Separate physical keyboard for those who prefer that option with touch screen too
  • Screen is nice size and decent resolution
  • Works well on T-Mobile network
  • Easy to upgrade OS to Bella (last and latest)
  • Limited number of overall Symbian apps do work well and are free or low price.
Cons:
  • The micro usb port on the E7 phone will definitely break over time
  • It
  • s not attached to interior motherboard well
  • As the port loosens, it will be harder and harder to get the phone to charge
  • Remember, the battery is non-removable and wireless charging is not an option

Nokia E7 review Review

The Nokia E7's good looks reeled us in, but it doesn't have the brains to keep us interested. Symbian just feels more and more confusing as competing software becomes slicker, and this, together with the hesitant user interface, means the E7 is no fun to use, even if it is packed with features.
Pros:
  • Magnificent metal case
  • Cool sliding keyboard
  • Decent camera
Cons:
  • Hesitant
  • jerky user interface
  • Confusing in places
  • Few apps compared to competitors

Nokia E7 in-depth review -

Nokia was once great amongst geeks and no other was greater than its Communicator mini-PC range. The E90 in 2007 was the last to carry the name, but it's now been revived in the E7 - even as Nokia announces its intent to ditch Symbian for a partnership with Microsoft exclusively making Windows Phone...
Pros:
  • Excellent email
  • free sat-nav
  • decent touch-screen
Cons:
  • Occasional lags
  • clunky Symbian OS
  • lack of apps
  • bloated homescreen setup

Nokia E7 review

Despite announcing recently that it would be switching to Windows Mobile as its primary smartphone platform, Nokia is still releasing phones running the Symbian operating system. Its latest, the E7, has a 4in AMOLED screen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash.

True world phone, nothing else comes close.

New OS software Belle, makes this phone 3 times better than the old version, no lockups in the browser, truer widget experience all around smother operation. If this phone was to be re-reviewed by CNET for the lower price now in the stores plus the new software, it would score a home run..
Pros:
  • Great screen, great battery life, fully keyboard and thin too! Feels sturdy
  • Has all GSM phone frequencies of the world
  • Multiple Language predictive text at the same time
  • Truly unique design
  • Built in Maps & Navigation, music & video editing
Cons:
  • The speaker phone is located in the wrong place (seriously the only defect
