Nokia C6-01 Review

The Nokia C6-01 may have been the "low end" device at Nokia World 2010 , but that doesn't mean there's nothing to recommend it. Packing one of Nokia's new ClearBlack AMOLED displays and a compact metal chassis, it slots in underneath the businesslike C7 but offers roughly the same specifications.

Nokia C6-01 Review - The Cheapest Symbian^3 Phone

Following in the footsteps of its Nokia C6-00 predecessor, the C6-01 effortlessly competes on the smartphone market. Although the handset is not on top of the food chain per se, it does offer features that are vastly superior to most devices in the mid-range category.
Pros:
  • Beside its premium look and solid build, the C6-01 is an all-rounder in all aspects
  • It does good pictures, excellent audio quality, outstanding data speeds and includes the best hardware that the Finnish manufacturer can muster.
Cons:
  • The worse things about the C6-01 is the low battery life, as well as the 'unattractive' mobile platform
  • Fixed-focus for camera and the lack of a document viewer are other downsides of the phone.

Review: The Nokia C6-01, four months later

Right then, the Nokia C6 (okay, I really mean the Symbian^3-powered C6-01, but let's go with C6 for the rest of the article, okay?). Announced at Nokia World last year, this was the device I zeroed in on as wanting to cover.

First of all, Nokia C6-01 is a Symbian^3 handset that is not to be confused with the inferior slider keyboard-wielding Nokia C6. The new Nokia device is slated to be released in the month of December.

Horrible phone.

Bought this in June 2011, with a two-year contract. A few months ago, the touchscreen was starting to be partially unresponsive. Now it does not work at all. The phone is slow itself. It cannot, of course, compare to a real smartphone, but everything has its price. It is an out-dated Symbian.

  • unintuitive user interface
  • Poor app store
  • Flaky connectivity
  • Looks cheap
