Review: Nokia 5310 XpressMusic
A far cry from Nokia's clunky 5300 slider from just two years ago, this truly bite-size candy bar is 9 grams lighter than the W890i, about 0.25mm thinner and less wide by about 6.6mm (it's also advertised as .01 inches slimmer, but we couldn't tell).

Nokia 5310
What do you need to do to make your competition's life tougher than ever? Not much, really – launch an adequately priced phone that will push the bottom line of its price-bracket down, so that everyone will have to readjust and play your game.

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Review
Nokia are have always been the big name when it comes to mobile phones. However, when it comes to mobile phone music devices they are relative chasers to Sony Ericsson and their well established and well received Walkman range.

In conclusion the Nokia 5310 is a practical well thought out addition to the XpressMusic range which is showing real signs of improvement with each and every device released by the Finish mobile giants.

One of the worst phones I have ever used, didn't rate it a 1 because it worked some of the time. But it kept on crashing and freezing up. Also it wouldn't read my memory card properly abd the volume control button was soo lose it sounded like a rattle!
Pros:
- Looks Good
- Thin
Cons:
- Everything else

A slim candybar phone with dedicated music keys and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Nokia 5310 is available for free on monthly contracts and on pay as you go. The dedicated music keys on the casing are really useful as it means you can skip tracks or play and pause music without having to fiddle around...

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic
The last generation Nokia XpressMusic phone, the Nokia 5300, sold well on T-Mobile USA. But thin is in, and the phone was ripe for a redesign. And so T-Mobile has picked two new models for the US market: the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone which became available in May 2008 and the Nokia 5610...
Pros:
- Thin and sleek looking phone
- Great audio quality
- 1GB microSD card and stereo wired headset included
- USB cable included for side-loading music
- A good web browser and a decent camera
Cons:
- Voice recognition doesn't work well out of the box
- Number keys and d-pad are too slippery
- Not quad band, missing the 900MHz band used heavily in Europe

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic review
Nokia's been a the forefront of the mobile phone market, well, for as long as there have been mobile phones. The Nokia 5310 looks like a classic low-rent PAYG special for the hard-up, but, like a young man destined to star in adult films, this is hiding a big secret in its trousers…
Pros:
- At first glance, this very slim and light, 2G phone doesn't exactly give us the thrills, but it has a remarkable trick up its sleeve: Comes With Music
- Buy the handset for about 80 quid and you can download tunes from Nokia's library for no further charge.
Cons:
- Nokia's copy protection means tunes can only be played back from the handset and your PC
- and there's a raft of other daft restrictions
- plus music management software that's frankly not up to scratch.
