Nokia 4.2 review: Performance issues spoil another budget Nokia phone
With the introduction of Plus models and decimals, HMD Global's range of Nokia phones has taken on a somewhat bloated and hard to decipher form, far from the essential selection of handsets across various price points it started out as.- Build quality Like most Nokia phones, the 4.2 is well-made and seemingly built to last
- Even though I may have preferred a more robust plastic chassis, the glass sandwich construction feels more premium than it probably should, Software and updates A clean, skin free OS thanks to Android One that...
- Display Low quality and low brightness result in a sub-par viewing experience
- Performance This thing is slow as hell and regularly suffered infuriating multi-second freezes
- Camera A laggy camera app is compounded by poor autofocus and washed out images
- Battery life Will get you through the day,...
Nokia 4.2 Review: An affordable smartphone with a Google Assistant button
In our test, the Nokia 4.2 presents itself as a reliable smartphone at an affordable price. Despite the small storage equipment, the system runs smoothly and has no difficulties running simple everyday apps such as the Internet browser, WhatsApp, or Mail apps.- Google Assistant key
- smooth system operation
- dual-SIM and microSD card can be used simultaneously
- acceptable camera performance
- small internal storage
- apps cannot be moved to storage card
- dedicated Assistant key cannot be reprogrammed for other functions
- user account control is not enabled
Nokia 4.2 Review
The Nokia 4.2 has been a roller coaster. My initial review unit suffered from constant stutters and freezes that made using the phone a hair-pulling affair. The second unit has delivered a markedly improved experience, but it doesn't stop this $189 phone from having several compromises.- Good battery life
- Nice design and build quality
- Notification light
- NFC
- dedicated Google Assistant button are handy
- Android One means 2 years of fast updates
- Affordable
- Slow performance
- Slow camera
- mediocre low-light photos
- Doesn't work on Sprint
- Verizon
- Micro USB port
Nokia 4.2 review: Good, but not good enough
It's clear that the Nokia 4.2 is a slight misstep for the Finnish firm. We don't expect a phone at this end of the price scale to be faultless, but when the Nokia 4.2's issues are this plentiful – and the Moto G7 Play does things better in almost every regard – it struggles to earn a recommendation.- Well-priced
- Lovely design
- Solid camera
- micro-USB charging
- Single-band Wi-Fi
- Short battery life
Nokia 4.2
The Nokia 4.2 is very similar to the Nokia 3.2 , in fact, both devices carries similar design aesthetics and built. The Nokia 4.2 comes in a more compact size than the 3.2. It also provide a dual rear camera sensors and an Octa-core CPU instead of the single camera sensor and Quad-core CPU on the...
Nokia 4.2 is HMD Global's latest offering in India, and it aims to leave a mark in probably the most hotly contested segment of the smartphone market. The new Nokia phone inherits its curved dual-glass design from its siblings in the current Nokia lineup, and offers a stock Android experience.

Nokia 4.2 review: Small wonder
HMD Global has built up a stellar track record in the recent past by reviving a brand (Nokia) that was struggling not even a few years ago. In 2019, the brand has announced a few handsets at the Mobile World Congress 2019 and out of those, the Nokia 4.2 was the first launch in India.
Nokia 4.2 review: Decent entry level smartphone facing stiff competition
Nokia smartphones under HMD Global have a long way to go in the India market, which is largely dominated by Chinese OEMs. But it's surely on the right track with a bevy of trendy looking budget and mid range smartphones.
