A solid basic phone; is it the one for you

Nokia 1 Review. I have been using the Nokia 1 for a few days now, I initially chose the Nokia 1 as I was in the market for a simple and basic phone. I had considered using a feature phone but wanted/needed a few more features such as email, WhatsApp and internet for streaming music.

Have had the phone for 2 months now. Be a little worried that a phone for less than a thousand kronor would suffice. Always feel like phones are always going to be so expensive and can be so amazing. But I think you get amazing phone for the money.

Nokia 1 Smartphone Dark Blue TA-1079 review

The Nokia 1.3 is a Snapdragon running smartphone, but this does not have one of the high end Snapdragon CPUs, rather it runs on a lower-end Qualcomm SD 215 which should be capable of handling day to day usage.

Nokia 1 Smartphone Dark Blue TA-1079 review

Nokia 1.3: Cheap, cheerful and surprisingly competent, the Nokia 1.3 is cracking value for money

Cheaper than cheap; Bright; vibrant display; Sturdy build materials

Battery life isn’t great; Sluggish performance

Nokia 1 Smartphone Dark Blue TA-1079 review

On paper, the Nokia 1.3 looks like an absolute bargain but there's one big issue that means it's very hard to recommend

Nokia 1 Smartphone Dark Blue TA-1079 review

A bargain basement Android phone can usually save you a wedge of cash over a whizz-bang flagship - but you have to put up with compromised performance. Or at least, you did . Google has finally gotten its act together and adapted Android for low-power hardware, with Nokia being first in line to try...

Nokia 1 Smartphone Dark Blue TA-1079 review

Most aspects of the Nokia 1.3 remind you that this is a very affordable phone – the performance, the design, the camera quality – but as long as you're sticking to the basics, it's a cost vs benefits balance that we think will appeal to a certain number of people.

Android One software; Very cheap indeed; Solid build quality

Slow performance; Weak camera; Awkward battery fitting

Nokia 1 hands-on review

The Nokia 1 is a seriously exciting phone - even if it doesn't look like it on paper. The low-end hardware and rock-bottom price disguise how important this phone really is, but the software tells the full story. Android Go could transform the entry-level phone market, which still keeps millions of people around the world connected. The speed improvements and general usability tweaks make cheap phones a whole lot less painful to use. It helps that the 1 is an eye-catching candybar of a handset, with a great build and decent camera for the cash, too. Whether it will get South America, Russia and the rest to part with their feature phones remains to be seen, but we think it just might have what it takes to make that happen.
