Fantastic but so hard.

Nioh is one of those fights you refuse to lose, it's so hard, but you see past that because the rewards for winning seem all that sweet. It's difficult, like the Souls games, but it's endearing.

"Borne-again." "Re-Borne." "New-Borne." On and on, it didn't stop. It might sound a little callous, but after the initial batch of stor...

Nioh

Nioh nicely complements what the Souls games did before it andtakes that foundation and adds its own unique flavour to create something that is both familiar and yet excitingly fresh and original in its own right.

Nioh (PlayStation 4) Review

Admittedly, this critic was more than a little anxious going into Team Ninja's latest. After all, an action title that draws inspiration from Dark Souls and Diablo could turn out to be a colossal mess. These two games, great as they are, go together about as well as oil and water.

The Soul Of The Samurai

Concept: Battle through an unforgiving and demon-infested version of feudal Japan on a quest to find your nemesis Graphics: Characters and enemies look great, but environments feel repetitive and drab at times Sound: The clash of steel, voice taunts, and a spectacular (if limited) soundtrack carry...

I can be your Oni, baby

A hallmark of excellence. It may have some flaws, but they are negligible to what is otherwise a supreme title.

I have a confession: I'm not a fan of Dark Souls. I don't know what it was about the action RPG that never gripped me, but I never found enjoyment in playing a game that was created mainly just to torture it's audience with a ridiculous difficulty level and also allowed players to be griefed by...

There are dozens of " Souls -like" games but Nioh is by far the most ambitious, polished and successful because it has taken Dark Souls ' digital DNA and genuinely evolved it into something both recognizable and different.

Nioh review – Dark samurai

A perfect accompaniment to the SoulsBorne series, with plenty of unique ideas of its own and some of the best combat of the generation.

Wonderfully nuanced and customisable combat system, with some great enemies and bosses; Clever level design and welcome range of graphical options

Reusing levels seems unnecessary given the length of the game; Limited online options

Nioh Review

It isn't often that a new IP releases in the gaming industry, especially one made by a veteran studio like Team Ninja. Responsible for Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden , this iconic studio has admittedly played a minor role in recent years. That changes starting today.

Thrilling combat system; Huge number of attractive skills and items; Diverse and interesting enemies; Non-linear world map; Co-op saves the day

Underwhelming visual quality; Tags
