Nioh review

Nioh is a triumph. It stands head and shoulders above every other title in the genre, even eclipsing its obvious inspiration. Team Ninja is not only back, but it has thrown down the gauntlet, and only time will tell who's up for the challenge.

Deep combat mechanics; A steep but rewarding difficulty curve; Exceptional level design; The option to choose 60 or 30 fps is the cherry on top

The story is a little flat; Some may find the graphics a little underwhelming

Really a Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden mashup

It's definitely an excellent game and will appeal to both newcomers into RPG franchise and dark souls veterans as it is jast as mysterious as souls series and not as tough as dark souls. It takes about 4 gb update which is not necessary to play the game. From graphics to story and combat mechanics...

Nioh: Defiant Honor is the latest piece of DLC which sees us going to Osaka to lay siege on its castle and picks up right where we left off with the Dragon of the North DLC. The DLC is essentially two main story missions and a couple of sub missions.

Great new setting; Fleshes out the story pretty well; Tonfas are a lot of fun

Only two new main missions; Brutally hard for the non hardcore fans

I never need any encouragement to get involved in a game that is clearly inspired by one of my own personal favourite franchises, Dark Souls , and Nioh from Team Ninja happened to hit the bill on multiple fronts.

Nioh Review

Nioh is a fantastic action RPG that wears its influences on its sleeve, but adds plenty of twists to the formula that make it stand proudly on its own.

Nioh

Conceptually, Nioh seems to be tailor-made to suit our tastes. Far Eastern swordplay dressed up in a challenging, contemporary robe. An action-RPG in the vein of Dark Souls that adds supernatural spirits, demonic powers, and rapid sword fighting to the backdrop of a setting sun.

Nioh

Fight your way through a feudal Japan mixed with monsters. Utilise 6 different weapons each with several stances. Upgrade your character and customise stats for your playstyle. Epic and unique boss battles push your limits. Tackle a level in co-operative mode.

Great weapon and stance variety – Strong unique setting – Loot element

PC version lacks stability and mouse control

Fantastic but so hard.

Nioh is one of those fights you refuse to lose, it's so hard, but you see past that because the rewards for winning seem all that sweet. It's difficult, like the Souls games, but it's endearing.

"Great game!"

Great game with challenging gameplay and some really challenging post game missions. Really cool choice of fighting/weapon styles/option-s/upgrade pat-hs.

Nioh review – Dark samurai

A perfect accompaniment to the SoulsBorne series, with plenty of unique ideas of its own and some of the best combat of the generation.

Wonderfully nuanced and customisable combat system, with some great enemies and bosses; Clever level design and welcome range of graphical options

Reusing levels seems unnecessary given the length of the game; Limited online options
