It has been two weeks since the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide, and with a custom NVidia mobile GPU, awesome Joy-Con devices, and a solid tablet experience, the Nintendo Switch has redefined how I look at handheld gaming.
It switches like magic! One second, you're using Nintendo Switch as a home console, and the next you're taking it with you as a portable system. It's totally awesome no matter which way you use it.
When used as a home console, the Nintendo Switch lets you play a great range of cool games in immersive HD. If you wish to use it in handheld mode, the experience is still pretty stunning thanks to a multi-touch capacitive touch screen which can display a resolution of 1280 x 720.
The Joy-Con controllers really give Nintendo Switch an edge on similar gaming devices. One of the best features is HD Rumble; imagine your Joy-Con is a glass. With HD rumble, you'll feel the difference as you add ice cubes and pour water into the glass. This sense of touch goes way beyond the normal vibrations you might have experienced in other controllers. Meanwhile the IR Motion Camera can detect shape, movement, and the distance of objects captured by the camera, adding an extra thrill to your gameplay.
Parental controls on Nintendo Switch allows you to manage how your family interacts with the device.
Excellent battery life means the fun can last for more than six hours, depending on software and usage conditions. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be played for about three hours on one charge.
There's plenty of memory to play with here. 32GB of internal memory, while storage space can be extended by simply using microSDHC or microSDXC cards.

The received wisdom in the gaming industry is that Nintendo builds plans around what it calls a ‘white shark' policy. The way the industry works is this: someone comes up with something that proves popular – be it software or hardware – and everyone else in the industry says ‘let's do that'.
The Switch fixes all of the mistakes of the Wii U and doubles-down on that system's best feature. But there are still plenty of issues and unanswered questions that leave us worried.
Innovative hardware; Being able to play your games anywhere is unique; A huge step up from the Wii U
So-so battery life; Screen doesn't work well outside; Still waiting on more features; Expensive accessories
As has been the case for past couple of generations in the home console space, Nintendo went in a different direction than either of its rivals (Sony and Microsoft) with the Switch . Once again, Nintendo's newest console does not engage the competition in a specs war.
Nintendo is selling a promise With the Switch, Nintendo is essentially selling a $400 promise. The console has issues, including what will likely be an underpowered processor, a possible lack of third-party support - though Nintendo claims to have 50 developers and publishers on board with the...
Handheld-home console hybrid is compelling; Build quality is impressive; The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is amazing
Launch titles are not great; It's expensive at $400 CAD; Battery life is less than stellar
The Nintendo switch is a powerful hand-held Console compared to its predecessors. It surpasses the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS in every way. Although as a home console, it lacks the power that the 3-year-old PS4 and Xbox One has.
Feels like a premium product; Very portable; Option to play at home and on-the-go; Quick and hassle-free transition from handheld to gaming on the TV; Waking it up from Sleep mode is almost instantaneous; Decent graphics
Frame rate issues when docked; Joy-Con on its own could be limiting to use; Cannot charge Joy-Cons on the Grip; Cannot backup files; Cannot connect to a wireless headphone
Daughter loves it, best Christmas present. Mom loves it because it came with protective case and screen savers and space to put the little game chips, I also love it because I was able to do 6 easy payments so it was affordable and my daughter got what she really wanted for Christmas!! Thank you QVC
The Nintendo switch is a fantastic gift for my child who is disabled , very light and easy to use wonderful graphics and also parent control is awesome what a great switch. Great game for all the family would highly recommend buying it from John Lewis with insurance
Good customer service, would be better if couriers could give an estimated time they would arrive.
I think this console is a brilliant idea for Nintendo. It consolidates their handheld line with their home console line and gives birth to the Switch, which would have to be the most powerful mainstream portable game systems ever made, which can then be played on the comfort of your couch in front...
