Nikon NIKKOR Z 20mm f/1.8 S Lens - Brand New review
What a dilemma. Discounting the price, this is an amazing lens that reaches the very highest level of quality. However, there are many lenses not that far behind, almost as fast, even at f/1.4 where the choice widens considerably. These are a fraction of the price of the Nikkor Z.
Pros:
- Outstanding sharpness, Virtually zero CA, Excellent flare resistance, Excellent handling, Quality manufacture, Custom functions for L-Fn button, Sublime handling of point light sources, Virtually no distortion, Beautiful bokeh effects
Cons:
- Huge price tag, Weight, Screw thread lens hood

The new Nikon Noct is exceptional in its build, image quality and aspiration. Undeniably big, heavy and expensive, it’s impractical for the majority of Z-camera shooters, but actually more practical than I’d imagined. Its image quality is stunning.

Taking care of an even image quality across the frame up from the f/1.8 aperture, is particularly visible. The tested lens is able to put to shame not only the Nikkor 1.8/24 but also the 1.8/35 model, praised by us to heavens and a lot easier to correct.
