Great Lens
I am a novice, but wanted to purchase the zoom lens for my Nikon camera. It's super easy to change the lens and use. It comes with a nice pouch to store the lens in. I was extremely happy that my order arrived sooner than expected.

Great Lens
I bought this lens just hours before my daughter's first dance recital. I didn't know that they were going to totally refuse any flash film, but luckily I didn't need it. I was able to take awesome clear pics in nearly a zero-light setting, except for the stage.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons:
- Tough To Attach

A good budget lens
This lens does not offer as long of a zoom range as the 18-200mm lens, but is much less expensive and produces sharp images. It also includes vibration reduction (image stabilization) technology for reducing camera "shake". This lens is compact and lightweight, making it a great choice for travel.

Bought it for my trip to Yellowstone. My camera is an old Nikon D40 with kit lens. New Nikon Nikkor 55-200mm was a great help to shoot outdoors, especially animals. Pictures were sharp and clear. The lens was not a burden, though I hiked a lot.

Great lens for your Nikon digital camera!
Great lens! Highly recommended for any serious or hobby photographer!.. Takes awesome pictures and functions very well as it should. It has a compact design that compliments the Nikon digital camera perfectly. Easy to use as well.

Very versital lense - Should have bought it sooner
Overall a very good choice for the Nikon camera. The lens is easy to zoom while shooting and the auto focus is a nice feature. When shooting multiple fast moving shots, sometimes had to play with the focus sensor to get it right. This was a minor concern compared to the overall ease of use.
Pros:
- great picture quality in low light no flash
Cons:
- sometimes tempermental auto focus

OK but you get what you pay for.
I had a requirement for a good 200mm lens for portraiture, of which I do a lot of high & low contrast 3/4 length shots. The Nikkor 55-200 seemed the likely candidate and the price was right. What I liked most about the lens was ease of use, smooth zoom action and adequate f stops for a 200mm.

Great value
I purchased this lens to be a companion to my 18-55 and I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the glass and the function of the lens. I highly recommend this lens to the beginner or seasoned veteran!

Never worked from the get go!
After much research I bought my first digital SLR camera, a Nikon D5200. To extend the camera's use I bought this refurbished model zoom lens based on its positive reviews. While using the lens it whirled and whined and would fail to focus but for the fewest times in bright light.

- hood cover and lens back cover would have added nice touch
