I ordered the glass instead of my broken original Nikkor kit lens. This lens came in a white box: no guides, no references. As for quality and functioning - I did not see any difference- hope it will last for some time.

I bought this lens as a kit lens with a D7500, and think it's a great walking around lens. Yes, it's bigger than the 18-55. When I shot the 18-55, I was always wishing it had a little more reach. The 18-140 focuses quickly and has pretty good reach. I've been happy with the images.
Great range, excellent photos. If you use the settings "RETOUCH MENU >DISTORTION CONTROL" on Nikon cameras like the D7100 and the D3300, the optical distortions disappear. Definitely a lens to keep on your camera for most purposes.
Gary Wolstenholme reviews the new super-zoom lens from Nikon, the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens.
Good sharpness throughout the zoom range; Lightweight; Effective VR system; Convenient zoom range
Distortion; especially at 18mm; Price
I would recommend this as the lens of choice for the beginning photographer. It will do anything you are able to take until you go into areas requiring a special lens.
This has become my lens of choice; I have 21 Nikon lens, and the two competitors are a Nikkor 18-55mm F/3.5-f/5.6 AF-S Lens and a Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.0-f/5.6 ED AF-S, as well as macro and some prime lens; However, unless I am taking Marco photographs, this lens is what I use most of the time.
A little heavy at times and wish I had a better lens hood; Sometimes I would like a faster lens, but then I change to my 50mm f1.8
I have had a lot of fun with this lens and taken a lot of my best photographs. At the wide end it's almost always wide enough and the telephoto end is pretty good. I have no doubt specialist lenses could be better but this one is fantastically convenient and you'd have to be awfu' picky to criticise...
"I bought this lens, used, from Henry's on July 11th. I have a 16-85 and an old, but very sharp, 35-105 which I use on a Nikon D7000. I learned a long time ago to let your shooting dictate what lenses you buy.
Super lens, Would recomend for sure as this proved to be a single lens I used in my entire trip without much need to change lens which I had to do earlier.
Plz buy from RPcamera of flipkart.they r selling it for 21k only. If u buy for 24k obv u can buy from outside retail as they wld be giving u warranty as specified by nikon site but i suggest to buy from Flipkart as its cheap here.
After using it for more than one year I realised that this lens has vignette issues over the corners.. I received a defective product.. It has come along with D5500 as kit lens and deeply disappointed. It was Sold by Daffofil electronics..
