What a great buy for a great product!

I priced this lens everywhere. No one could price match (Even the top name electronic stores). The closest they came was $70.00 more plus tax. What a great deal. I have always received top notch equipment and price from Cameta Camera.

A very good general use zoom.

I purchased the lens ready for a wildlife cruise in Jan/Feb. so I have been getting use to it.The results so far are very good, VR works well, The weight is OK for carry on at part of my photo kit. The price was good. (not beaten on survey of online stores.)

I use D7000 with it and I am very satisfied. Even on 300 settings it is sharp

This is what I really wanted! In my opinion this is semi-pro level of photography. The pictures of MY Nikon AF-S 70-300 VR are sharp, sharp, sharp! I use D7000 with it and I am very satisfied. Even on 300 settings it is sharp. I love this lens. Not too big. Not too heavy. Comfortable in use.

Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF VR Review

Most lenses of this type offer a maximum aperture of f/4 but Nikon's lens is limited to f/4.5. Despite this, it requires a 67mm lens cap even though its faster f/4 competitors are able to make do with either 58mm or 62mm.
Pros:
  • Internal focusing
Cons:
  • Not much at all

Great Lens!

Overall a great lens!! The VR works great and helps a lot!! Sometimes it has a hard time/slow focusing low lighting, but other than that pretty much nothing wrong with this.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Durable
  • Easily Interchangeable
Cons:
  • Poor in Low Light

Good value for the price.

There's a gigantic price difference between this lens and the Nikon 70-200 2.8G AF-S VR meaning if you want something in between you have to go with a third party manufacturer. Even then it's a jump up to around the $1100+ mark to get anything better than this.
Pros:
  • Good optical quality for the very low price range
  • Good VR.
Cons:
  • 300mm is quite blurry
  • Slow & unreliable autofocus
