This lens focusses fast, sharp and crisp...
My new favorite lens now. If you are looking for a sports lens or for a distance portrait, this is it. This lens is truly impressive. It focusses and locks extremely fast similar to 35mm f1.8G prime lens. I would like to give credit to Angry Photographer for recommending this beautiful lens.

Fantastic lens
Fantastic lens, picture quality is brilliant. Hard to fault this lens. Not to heavy to hold also.

fast autofocus, f2.8 is just OK
Fast delivery, sold by Amazon, fast autofocus indeed, rings are softer compared with other Nikkor lenses. Initial impression is good. The lens itself will not stand on its own, out of balance, but when connected to D850, it stands fine.

Simply Awesome
Finally broke down and traded my beloved 70-200 f/2.8 VR2 for the new version. Only took one day to get use to the zoom ring placement. The improvement in sharpness and color rendition was worth the steep price. I highly recommend the new "E" version for anyone interested in the best.

Amazing lens
This lens definitely lived up to the hype. I've been eyeing this for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on it. It's everything I had hoped it would be, allowing me to take some incredible pictures in challenging light condition.

Stunning in all ways
"Wow! I upgraded from the original 70-200 f2.8 VR to this lens having skipped the VR2 version. It took me a while to decide but after 10 years with my existing lens, I justified the purchase.

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is a solid upgrade to the older 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II. The new lens is notably sharper and focuses closer, but it does carry a higher price tag.
