Great Lens

images here are from a sports banquet that had very low lighting. I took the shots without flash. the brighter one was processed using the "one step photo fix" option in Corel Paintshop Pro

Crisp Images; Exceptional In Low Light; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Nice Bokeh

It's what canon's 50mm f/1.4 Should be.

One day, I got fed up with Canon's 50mm f/1.4 lens design. Having had 2 of their lens fail due to issues with autofocus, and the micro usm; I decided to give Nikon a shot. Canon should be ashamed of themselves. This lens is made in china and performs better than theirs which is made in japan.

Consistent Output; Lightweight; Nice Bokeh

Great lens!

Having used a number of different platforms for my personal photography, I have found that Nikon and Nikkor lenses are my first choice. For 35mm photography and digital photography as well, it is my opinion that these lenses are unsurpassed in quality, performance, and ease of use.

Flawed Genius

Perfect all rounder that's sharp corner to corner from f1.4 up and perfect for portraits on a DX body. Just let down by it's pedestrian and sometimes hesitant auto focus and its plastic body which I'd thought ought to be better on a lens that costs the thick end of £300 However I'd rather have...

Overall, this is a fantastic all-round lens particularly for portraits

Wide Aperture; Cheap (for a lens); Compact; Light

Solid Nifty Fifty

This is an awesome little lens for the price. However, it's worth would massively depend on what you're buying it for. if like me you're using it on things like shooting wedding parties, then it is worth splasing out for the F1.4 G.

Pricey but worth it!

The Nikon 50mm 1.4 is a great lens. It's focus accuracy in very low light is unparalleled. It is razor sharp from F2 and up. At 1.4 the image are good but not super sharp like most 50mm prime lenses. There is a slight bit of distortion. The colour and contrast are also very good.

Amazing Lens. Highly recommend for all folks who invest in a good NikonDSLR

Absolutely fantastic from every angle. A Must have portrait lens for DSLR enthusiasts. The bokeh is just tremendeus. This has now become my daily shoot lens for all sort of photographs. It is crisp and photos are super sharp. This lens also allows you to keep the camera in a case much smaller.

This is the only prime lens I bought so far, and I'm very glad I got it. I highly recommend this investment. The lens kit at the same focal length looks so cheap compared to this one! I think I found my lens, and I will remove it from the body only when I REALLY NEED to.
