I have loved shooting with my fixed lens Fuji X100-T for ages and love it. With my Nikon DSLRs I usually use a 18-300 zoom which is excellent for travel. I finally bit the bullet to add a prime that does similar on the DSLR and was not Disappointed.
Great Picture Quality; Lightweight
Great lens....
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED ( FX , DX and 35mm coverage, 72mm filters, 12.6 oz./355g, 0.75'/9"/0.24m close focus, about $747 ). enlarge . I'd get mine at Adorama or at B&H .
Expand your lens options with the EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM and see the world in exquisite detail. Designed for APS-C DSLR cameras, the built-in Macro Lite gives you flexibility to use only half the light, the full light and more to help you achieve your desired effect.
Nikon's 24mm Æ'/1.8G is an excellent addition to its prime lineup, however most shooters are going to be wondering if it is worth saving a significant amount of money by buying this lens in comparison to the Æ'/1.4 version. The short answer is -- unless you need the Æ'/1.4 aperture setting -- yes.
With the Nikkor AF-S 24mm f/1.8 G ED, Nikon closes the last obvious gap in its range of affordable f/1.8 primes and at the same time likely completes the renewal of this part of their portfolio. The large rubberized focus ring is nicely damped and operates smoothly.
