Best in Class

This may be the best wide angle zoom ever made. It is sharper corner to corner than any Zeiss wide angles and all around top notch lens. Nikon pro build. Henry's customer service and fast shipping makes purchasing this lens a good experience.

Excellent lens, bulky

Too bulky for a regular shopper. However if you are a full time photographer looking for something outstanding at outdoors, go for this. Nothing can match the amount of space it covers at narrow distances. No flaw in pictures it takes.

What a lens! Truly a gem!

Needs more than 5 stars! This lens is even better than i expected. after getting it in the mail i took it out for a test run taking pictures of my backyard, plants up close wide open and stopped down. and when it got dark i tried it out on the stars with my d700.
Pros:
  • Fast / accurate auto-focus
  • Nice Bokeh
  • Rugged
  • Strong Construction
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • Sun Flare Sensitive

stupendous lens

Pros: Although perhaps seeming to be a very specialized wide-angle lens, it is an extremely useful range. It captures stunning photos of settings such as large community festivities. They are so natural and undistorted, I do highly recommend this beautiful FX lens. Cons:

Excellent glass

This is a very nice lens and paired very well with my Nikon D750. Crisp shots and fast lens with very little to no vignetting when all the way out at 14mm. I do a lot of low light and night shooting and have been very pleased with this lens. Must have for landscapes-
Pros:
  • Fast wide lens
Cons:
  • heavy
  • no filter capability

Ultra Wide Lens for Ultra Wide Object

Below is a photo of a 340 foot long "box" truss I recently erected for an airplane hangar in Arizona. With limited foreground in which to work, this ultra wide angle zoom lens allowed me to get close to the structure, capture it all, and with no noticeable distortion.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED ($1,999.95) is an ambitious lens-it covers an ultra-wide field of view at its widest, and a 2x zoom ratio that seems modest, but actually changes the field of view quite dramatically given just how much it captures at its widest-and it does it all while...

  • Very sharp
  • Ultra-wide field of view
  • Full-frame coverage with f/2.8 aperture

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Review

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED is an excellent ultra-wide angle zoom with an f/2.8 design, but it's on the pricey side for a specialty lens. The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED ($1,999.95) is an ambitious lens—it covers an ultra-wide field of view at its widest, and a 2x zoom ratio that seems modest, but actually changes the field of view quite dramatically given just how much it captures at its widest—and it does it all while maintaining an f/2.8 aperture. It's an excellent performer, even on full-frame cameras, with only a few weak points, and a go-to lens for Nikon shooters who crave an ultra-wide zoom lens. Some folks may prefer a more modest wide zoom, like the less expensive Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G($746.95 at Amazon), but when 18mm isn't wide enough, this is the lens to reach for. And when you reach for it, it won't be hard to find. The 14-24mm($1,996.95 at Amazon) is big, measuring 5.2 by 3.8 inches (HD) and heavy at 2.1 pounds. Its front element curves outward, so there's no way to screw in a standard lens filter. Lee Filters sells the SW150 holder for use with the lens; it's pricey at $400, b...

Nikon Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm F2.8G ED Lens AFS14-24MM F2.8G ED review

The Nikon 14-24mm ƒ/2.8G is an excellent wide-angle pro lens, with only two substantial flaws: lens flare, and the inability to attach filters. The lens hood does work to prevent flare if you can put it between the front element and the sun, but let's face it - this is a wide angle lens we're...
