Nikon D7500 Review

Nikon's new D7500 isn't as beastly as the D500, but it still packs a serious bite.

8 fps continuous shooting; 3D AF tracking works very well; Image buffer holds 50 uncompressed RAWs; Dust- and splash-proof; 4K video

Lacks some high-end features of D7200; 4K video is severely cropped

Nikon D7500

The Nikon D7500 takes two steps forward from the D7200, and then turns around to take a step back. It offers some serious improvements-a faster capture rate with a large shooting buffer, a more robust implementation of a trusted autofocus system, better protection against dust and moisture, 4K video...

20.9MP APS-C image sensor; 8.1fps continuous shooting; 50-shot Raw, 100-shot JPG buffer; 51-point autofocus system; Tilting touch LCD; Weather-sealed body; 4K video capture; SnapBridge Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

4K video is cropped; Autofocus system not as robust as D500; Only one memory card slot; Omits Depth of Field Preview function; No battery grip option

Nikon D7500 Review: The Best DSLR Under $1,500

On paper, it might seem like the Nikon D7500 is a step back from its predecessor, the D7200. The D7500 has fewer megapixels (20 MP, as opposed to 24 MP in the D7200), lacks a second card slot and doesn't work with older lenses.

Excellent image quality; Speedy continuous shooting; Fast autofocus; Responsive touch screen; Extensive feature set

No dual card slots; 4K video cropped; AF erratic in video capture

Nikon D7500

Nikon is clearly sorting their DSLR into different market segments according to features. The new D7500 is built around their highest quality APS-C sensor paired with their mid-range 51-Point Phase-Detect AF sensor and the second fastest processor among DX cameras.

Clean JPEG images; Exceptional dynamic-range until ISO 800; Accurate and highly sensitive AF system; Ultra-short black-out; Flexible self-timer and exposure delay; Highly responsive; Good color-accuracy; Eye-Start Sensor; Manual focus assist direction indicator; Excellent build quality

Metering issues; Poor Automatic White-Balance in low-light; Some key features buried in Menu; Bizarre Auto ISO; Live-view not Exposure-Priority in Photo mode; Slow shot-to-shot speed; Instant Review delay; 1.5X crop for 4K

15MAY2019 "Upgraded" (this week) from the Nikon D700 to the D7500 Yes! At 57, with a two year old grandson who never sits still, a smaller "kit" to lug around and 10 year newer/faster auto-focus capability, with higher frame rate at 8FPS, is becoming more important than the Fx "advantage".

Nikon D7500 DSLR Camera with 18-140mm Lens VBK510XA review

The D500 is great, but as a pro-level camera its price puts it out of reach for many. The fact that the D7500 has many of the same components, specifically those that determine image quality, makes it very attractive.

Nikon D7500 Kit (18-140mm) - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Nikon D7500 Kit (18-140mm) - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades
