Awesome camera

[...]This is an awesome camera, got mine a few days ago and cant be more impressed. When taking into consideration the intended customer and the price point, there isn't a better camera on the market today, so if this camera meets your needs, buy one without reservation. [...

Can Nikon put a foot wrong in the D-SLR business at the moment? We're not so much talking about a renaissance any more as a belle epoch. The list of recent home runs is truly impressive – D4, D800/800E, D3200 and now the D600 (with, we're reliably informed, more to come).

Nikon D600

In late 2012, Nikon announced its latest full frame HD SLR, the Nikon D600 . A 24.3-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor is paired with a EXPEED 3 image processor that makes the D600 ready to shoot in 0.13 seconds.

D600 Review

Nikon D600 Review The D7000 goes FX Add a comment or send Thom feedback on this article. The surprise in Nikon's 2012 FX onslaught was the D600, announced just prior to Photokina and only about six months after the D4/D800/D800E.

Consumer DX user upgrading to FX : get the D600; It's what you're used to, on steroids; Sure, 36mp sounds like bragging rights, but short of being really good at handling your camera during photography and having great lenses, you're not going to see much bump from what you would see with the D600.

Nikon's last big DSLR release was the D800. The big news with that camera was its pixel count of 36MP, which when it was released, comfortably eclipsed everything else around (and at the time of writing still does).

Seldom does a year pass without some innovation in the field of photography, especially from camera specialists like Nikon, who have made it a habit of coming out with DSLRs with higher megapixel counts and better optics. And the Nikon D600 proves that the trend is unlike to change.
