, there's no good point of comparison for the D600. But given the images (both still and moving) that this camera can produce, the well-designed, weather-sealed body, and the vast array of lenses and accessories in the Nikon system, we say it's well worth the price.

The D600 was a huge upgrade for me, coming from a D40. I paired this lens with a NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII pro lens and WOW, it is amazing! I am getting fast auto focus at several apertures in light I wouldn't even think of trying to shoot the D40.

I use the Nikon D600 for professional work and for general travel photography. It does just about everything the D800 does -- at nearly the same quality level -- and it costs considerably less and is lighter. Resolution is excellent.

11 fps? It's not a D4 or a D800E; check the cost

This camera is a professional grade camera and can produce professional grade results. This has a very sturdy body, has an amazing sensor (24 megs) which is good in any situation also it goes light on the resources you need in-terms of post processing power and storage space required when compared...

As Thom Hogan said, "A D3X in a D7000 body at 1/3 the price." I was compelled to buy it. It is what I have been waiting for ever since Kodak marketed the 12 megapixel 14n crammed into a Nikon N80 for $5000. I could not, not buy it. I could care less about live view or movies.

After 1000 clicks, the sensor start to show dust on the left corner and Nikon refuse to fix it. As D600 owner, I feel that there is a level of quality that rides on the Nikon name and we pay a premium for this. when the quality drops below, I expect Nikon to stand behind and fix the problem.

I have already sent the camera in once since Jan. to have the sensor cleaned and it resolved the issue. So I thought. After only 1500 photographs after the cleaning, the dust/oil spots are there again. I am dissatisfied even though the camera takes great photos.

I purchased a factory refurbished camera and lens and am incredibly happy with this kit. The lens takes beautiful photographs (max. aperture f3.5 - 4.5) and the camera is totally fantastic. This combination focuses and shoots really quickly.
