At last the Camera that we have been waiting for
Took it out yesterday, straight out of the box and I was immediately impressed by the speed and ease with which it locked focus on my running, chasing lurchers and some birds buffeted by the winds. This, combined with excellent fps speed is great for my work.

Nikon D500
The D500 is Nikon's new flagship DX-format (APS-C) camera. We were waiting a long time for Nikon to produce an update for the D300S, so much so that it has skipped a number and gone straight to D500.

It's been a long time since Nikon launched the D300, a camera that arrived at roughly the same time as the very first iPhone. Yep, that long ago. That camera's successor, the D300S, hit the market last decade too.
Pros:
- Fully realised autofocus system
- fast shooting and huge buffer
- great image quality
- smaller and more manageable than D5
- tilt-angle touchscreen
- ups its video capabilities (including 4K
Cons:
- "Hi" ISO settings aren't useful - they're just headline grabbers
- screen isn't fully variable
- touchscreen inaccessible for menu controls
