Brilliant gadget for my handbag!
I already have a Nikon D80 and love the brand, but I wanted a convenient sized camera so I won't miss any snaps and that can also take video. I wanted the highest amount of MPs and optical zoom - I would have loved 7 or 12 X optical zoom, but would have had to compromise camera size- I already have...

Happy, Happy, Happy!
No longer miss out on great pix of my grandkids antics! I used to miss alot waiting for the camera to focus - by that time, the moment was gone.

Awesome for the quality and price.
The pictures this camera a takes at night are fantastic. Also low light setting don't require a flash. I had a Nikon S610 before the S640, this one is better. A great pocket camera.

Nikon CoolPix S640 camera
I like the fact that Nikon 's CoolPixS640 is very easy to use because of its image stabilization function and auto-focus system. Recently I graduated and we all tried to capture a picture of us jumping up in mid-air. The shots turned out great. Our images were not blurred when we were in mid-air.
