Netgear WNDR4500 Wi-Fi Router Review
It's easy to become jaded when you review as much cutting-edge hardware as we do. We try not to be curmudgeons, but we do get grumpy when next-gen hardware fails to make a leap in performance - or worse, when it falls behind the gear it's intended to supplant.

Netgear N900 (WNDR4500) Review
While generally not considered part of the storage ecosystem, networking gear plays a key role in transporting data from device to device. In this case we're taking a look at Netgear's latest high-performance router offering, the N900 (WNDR4500).

Netgear N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router review
The N900 has excellent range when used with suitable client devices, and has decent real-world performance but - as with any of the new breed of 450Mbps routers - don't expect it to work miracles, in areas with heavy interference.

Netgear WNDR4500 Dual Band Gigabit Router Review
The Netgear WNDR4500 is the company's top-of-the-line router (unless we count in the recently announced equipment with 802.11ac support). It looks good with its large and pretty case with in-built antennas, handy indication system, two USB ports, dedicated Wi-Fi On/Off and WPS buttons.

N900 NETGEAR WNDR4500 Wireless Router

Pros:
- Support of two wireless frequency ranges
- Presence of traffic meter
- Ability to block unauthorized USB-devices
- High data transmission speed via PPTP
Cons:
- High price

Unusable after 1 year
I bought this router in July 2012, and it worked perfectly for one year and two weeks. Then, the latency went through the roof and packets started getting dropped. Tech support said that the problem was common and the permanent fix was just some changes to the router settings.

We bought this router and it was easy to setup and ran fine for about 4 months. Then started disconnecting from the internet. Would drop all wireless connections then reconnect after 5-10 seconds, modem would stay locked in.

Not satisfied
Beware this is not a wireless router, it requires a separate modem. I realised this after i opened the box, i returned it un used but did not get all my money back, will not deal with this supplier again. CIAO.
