Good switch, easy web management interface for QoS and VLAN configuration.

I've been looking to upgrade my internal home network, and found this while poking around at mem ex after a few minutes of research I grabbed it and wow, I used to get stutter occasionally from my network shares to my Boxee not anymore!

This is a great router. it does exactly what it says it does. however, it does not come with a Rack mounting. What they consider a Rack Mounting kit is really two Screws and two small plastic type anchors to push into your wall. Not really a Rack Mounting Kit.

I was able to configure it to have a few vlans (though the setup procedure was slightly confusing but I figured it out). Other than that, it works well.

This product has a very basic web interface (so you can assign it a static IP address if you like), but mostly you just fit it and forget it. The robust metal case is perfect for when it is under a user's desk, as it won't break if they step on it.

It feels like quality .. it preforms like quality .. thus it is quality ..

Although this device has more facilities than Netgear's basic FS108 switch, it is of similar size and design so upgrading is straightforward. You must also replace the power supply as the operating voltage is different.

This range of switches from Netgear (5-Port, 16-Port and POE available as well) offers a great opportunity to provide your network with features that are usually reserved for much larger and more expensive devices.

No web interface

I went to microcenter looking for a managed network switch so I can create VLAN's in my home network. I explained my network setup and what i wanted to accomplish with the new switch. The sales associate new exactly what i needed and showed me the available models.
