Solid router even though my first one came bricked. It was open box, so it's highly possible that the last person messed it up. Netgear Pro support was phenomenal. They sent me a replacement router next day air and troubleshot successfully a rather insidious cable modem problem.
is the v3 which fixed a lot of hardware shortcomings of the v1 and 2 models. so far so good for me
Pros: SSL VPN Support Gigabit WAN and LAN ports Dual WAN Interface OK Internal Power Supply Good Price Simple SSL VPN setup Good Speed Cons: SSL VPN doesn't support Vista 64bit No DMZ port Like to see little more logging More options on Firewall
I like this router so much I bought 2. I have been having problems with a similar device from another manufacturer most notably dropped connections and flakey VPN tunnels. I am ecstatic over the simplicity of setup and with not a single dropped connection or VPN tunnel since installation I couldnt...
Incredible bang for the buck! Every VPN option you could want, including IPsec and SSL I tested the VPN wizard and it was the simplest VPN Gateway setup Ive ever seen; I created a VPN gateway, and with a few minor adjustments it linked up with another VPN gateway from a different manufacturer in no...
Firmware is still a little buggy; It really needs a connected devices dashboard and the ability to boot a given host among other things; This is not a consumer device and does require at the very least a moderate networking background.
Allows for use with both cable and DSL services with rollover. If one fails the other picks up and continues providing internet service. I use 2 of them and connect them in Gateway to Gateway VPN configuration. Works great.
Fast Connection Speed; Reliable connection; Secure Connection
Difficult To Set Up
This is the router I have had used in one of the offices I maintain. Incredibly easy to setup for basic configuration, the GUI is easy to follow.
Quick to setup; built-in firewall; easy GUI
has some limitations; lacks CLI
After about a year on DSL we switched to Fiber, 3-4 Months afterward we had to start resetting it constantly. We finally gave up when we were resetting it about every 45 minutes.
Nice feature set; fairly easy to get up and running
Firewall rules are a little confusing, You have to setup "services" before setting up firewall rules; Not 100% straight forward link linksys/cisco, but not hard to adapt to
Worked straight away and has continued without hitch. Good strong signal throughout the house (better than previous Netgear models). Allows as much complexity as required but is easy to understand. Excellent product.
At the conclusion of my review on Linksys' RVL200 last month, unaware of this upcoming product, I wrote that "an SSL VPN router with gigabit LAN ports, dual WAN connections and multiple Gateway-to-Gateway tunnel capacity would be a very cool product.
SSL VPN Support; Gigabit WAN and LAN ports; Dual WAN; Internal Power Supply
Dynamic DNS slow to update; Only 1 IPsec client license included; No DMZ functionality (future release
