Had the product a couple of months now. Three key negative issues 1. While both units have RJ45 connection, only one of the two satellite units can be connected using hard-wired network. The other has to use 5Ghz as backhaul. 2. Range of the 5Ghz backhaul is pretty limited. The satellite units drop out at around 8m with clear line of sight to base unit. 3. Unit on the hard wired network regularly (at least daily) drops out necessitating restart On the plus side, when it is working it covers the house pretty well. In retrospect I should have purchased a higher spec product
easy to set up and I now have wireless internet throughout the house & the garage with loft.
Seems quite expensive but works well and has solved our internet problems. Hard to set up initially because it didn't ask for a password but needed one. Once I worked this out it was easy. Looks good, nice and small so can be hidden easily.
The Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System is the cheapest Wi-Fi 6 ready system going so far, is simple to set up and use, and its reach can be expanded easily, by adding more satellites.
Fantastic price; Easy to use; Fast speeds; Easy to add more satellites;
Slow to hand over on some devices; Only one spare Ethernet port;
Officially the cheapest Wi-Fi 6 mesh system that we've reviewed, the Netgear Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System is a budget way to get the latest wireless technology. It's an extremely basic system, with no parental controls or security, and speed drops off over range when you rely on a wireless connection between satellites. If you can switch to Ethernet, then performance dramatically improves. It's not for everyone then, but those with the right cabling or on a tight budget will find a lot to like.
Extremely cheap; Easy to expand; Stable coverage;
A little slow at range; Few additional features;
I thought this was going to be a complete overkill, but purchased it anyway. then I realised once they're spread properly I could have reliable Wi-Fi in the garage (something I never knew I wanted) AND didn't have to run a long cable to the sleepout anymore. would recommend for large homes.
