Once you get past the fact that you can't setup the router from Netgear's App because you need to configure the VLAN in the advanced setting via the web interface, it works really well in a reasonably large house with multiple streaming users. What lets the product down, is that there is no ability to set different access profiles for users, for example to differentiate between devices used for homework and gaming, you can only manually block and unblock individual clients.

Great product! If you are a Fibre user be sure to set up VLAN/Bridge to port 10. Had me scratching my head for an hour as it is off by default. I live in a 3 bedroom home and I have constant signal throughout the house, even outside! Great modem A+++

The AX4200 works better than I could have imagined. Through many walls, constant high-speed connectivity, no latency issues, this thing is powerful! With a GUI that provides all options you would expect from quality technology, the AX4200 ticks every box. I’m especially impressed with Smart Connect, letting the router seamlessly decide and connect between 2.4Ghz & 5.0Ghz for each device brilliantly on one SSID, so straight forward and worry free. You’ll never need to join the network twice. From port forwarding/triggering, dynamic DNS, VPN, WPS, Static Routing…. I’m using it all. Even ReadySHARE which allows me to share my entire music and movie collection on every device. This router has my network covered beautifully.

I purchased the Nighthawk AX4200 to upgrade from my ISP's standard router and since then my connectivity and wi-fi speeds have improved tremendously. The set up was incredibly easy with the assistance of the NETGEAR app and allows me to monitor any devices on my home network. I highly recommend this router to anyone who's looking to improve their network stability. The QOS option that's made available through the router settings has made streaming far more fluid too.
