Simple, and easy to set up for our network
Unmanaged switches are commodity items. They all function identically - that is to say, perfectly - they differentiate themselves in terms of price, warranty, mounting method and even aesthetics. This switch works perfectly. All ports send traffic at wire speed, gigabit. I verified this with iperf.
Works perfectly; Small; Light; Gigabit
Port lights don't indicate 10/100/1000 status; LEDs glow through top of case
Worked for the first few days no problem. Then my online gaming would start lagging and my Amazon fire would take some time to kick in. I plugged the cable directly into the PS4 and I was getting a download speed of 250/mbps. I would plug it into the switch, it would drop down to about 100/mbps.
Netgear tech support was useless. They tried to troubleshoot this unmanaged switch as if it was a router (asking what kind of modem it was plugged into, who my Internet service was through, what firmware was loaded on it) -- if you know the basics of networking then you'll understand how absurd...
Small; But it didn't work
The switch was dead right out of the box; Unfortunately for me, I bought it several months ago, anticipating to use it later (now); Should have tested it within the NewEgg return period, but I did not, so ineligible to return here; Now I'm paying $10 to ship a $12 switch back to Netgear for a swap.
the netgear 5 port soho gigabit ethernet switch is plug and play. it doesn't effect the internet speed still getting close to 300 mps
Super fast hub at low low price. square case allows stacking
I bought this based on the good reviews and low price tag. I have been using it for a few months now 24x7. Very small, no need for setup (unmanaged anyway), relatively energy efficient. Nothing bad so far
Worked out of the box, exactly as described.
Works great no issues at all.
