Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX7000)

Range extenders offer a way to provide wireless networking to those dead spots in the far corners of your house, but they have a reputation of being tricky to set up. With the Nighthawk AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender EX7000 ($169.99), setup is as easy as it gets, but more importantly, this dual-band...

Excellent throughput on both bands; Easy to install and configure; Five Gigabit LAN ports; Generous settings options

Expensive; Large footprint

Works very well

You can turn on and off the super bright netgear LED from the web interface. Something I found mildly interesting.

The web interface is pretty straightforward and even has an option to allow the device to almost set itself up

The back of the device is really cluttered; When you put 5 cables in the back and have the three antennas where they are, it's a bit silly; The little informational card on my device won't stay in, any time you move it, it slides right out; I've since taped it in place

Never get a "Netgear" anything. Sooner or later you will need technical support. After 90 days, no free support. $50 for 30 minutes up to $229 for 2 years. I'm going back to Arris.

Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 EX7000 WiFi Extender

The Netgear AC1900-Nighthawk (EX7000) is the fastest Wi-Fi extender Netgear has produced yet, boasting a top speed of 600Mbps at 2.4GHz and 1,300Mbps at 5GHz. It also packs in a host of extra features, making it perhaps the ultimate Wi-Fi extender for home and small-business use.

Class-leading AC1900 performance; Five Ethernet ports for connecting non-Wi-Fi kit; USB 3.0 port for fast file access and sharing printers; Easy to setup

Need the right hardware to make the most of it; Tries to force you to sign up for Netgear online services; 1yr warranty seems low for the price

brilliant

Installed instantly, connected 2g & 5g, & as an extension to my nighthawk. I noticed no extra wifi range. A week after, I looked at the netgear settings, I had not enabled wifi. I Toggled WIFI enabled on. Before it would not work outside of house, now 15mts away sat inside car and it worked fine.

Easy to install and is Fast

Used this to extend the WiFi signal to the rest of the house. Provides AC 1900.mbps and has removed all the dead spots. Simple to pair to the Vodafone Router and uses the same name, with ext added to the end of the name.

I originally bought this for somebody else, but tried it out for myself when I needed some extra coverage out in my yard in my travel trailer. Needless to say, its still setup in my house. It works fantastic, and I actually connect all my devices to this because the connection is rock solid.

Review: Netgear EX7000 AC1900 WiFi Range Extender

Weak WiFi range is the bane of most households, and while 802.11ac can improve things, it isn't the be all end all if you're using one device. Enter Netgear's Nighthawk Range Extender. Can this fix our WiFi woes?

Easy setup and maintenance; Stylish; Offers five Gigabit Ethernet ports; Fastlane technology to dedicate the whole of a band for one thing: connecting to the original router or sending out reception and data

Doesn't extend the WiFi name; meaning you're forced to connect to another network; not just keep working off the one you were using already; Expensive

not bad. not great

I upgraded my old netgear router. I stayed with netgear because of ease of setup. This is the first gen model. Set up was for more intermediate users. The speeds are why i gave it 3 stars. I have 60mbs cable internet. Only get 36mbs with router.
