I was given this modem by Vodafone when I signed up for their 'At home' service. In case you are interested this gives you broadband and home phone if you are already a mobile customer. I did not have to install anything, just plugged it in, entered my username and password and hey presto it worked.

Unless your computer is not near to your phone socket, then this comes with everything you need, including two extra filters to keep your other phones working properly. It's a neat unit, and has a nice display at the front ofr four little lights that tell you exactly what's going on.

Gets very hot but seems to be quite stable if kept cool

This was very easy to set and and is user friendly. I would reccomend to anyone in the market for a modem to try this one!

The installation CD didn't work, it wouldn't run on auto or manual. The Netgear help desk helped me install the software. Then the connection kept dropping out, so I returned it for a refund.

When i got this modem i thought wow this looks cool for a cheap modem.Then after a few weeks of using this modem it was so slow and was very poor connection. it was one bar of connection from 500M away i would not buy this modem i would save for a better modem.

I recently purchased this modem to replace a fantastic Billion modem that died on me. It was nothing but an absolute headache to try and configure and obtain support for. Essentially it doesn't give you many options, you just plug it in and type your username and password, all the default settings...

Honestly, the best modem you can get for under $100 in my opinion, worth the money, no problems when it connects to my Airport Extreme Base Station. Really good if you want a simple modem just for yourself or add to a router.
