Avoid

This modem is very bad. The wifi is very bad. The quality is very bad. The coverage is very bad. I am someone in the know, I can confirm this modem is basically useless.

Terrible software/Web Interface, very tiny 5GHz range

When using the Web Interface make sure to create config backups before and after every change, stupid stuff such as using any capital letters in a MAC address will cause the Web UI to break requiring a reset. So far the interface has broken twice by itself after just turning off and on, only way to fix is to reset with a pin/paperclip. The 5GHz wifi can go about 4 meters without any objects in the way before dropping to a speed worse than 2.4GHz.

Wifi is perfect when correctly configured

The first week was a nightmare for Wifi, constant drop outs on all devices. Then I changed the wifi settings and it's been flawless the last 2 months. Use the 'wifi analyser' mobile app to scan your area to see what wifi channels your neighbours are using then try a channel that isn't in use. For the rest try my settings: https://imgur.com/tJZsHrB

i install a lot of these routers probably close to 60 odd.

These routers are not as bad as some say. The trick is configure with a legacy browser like internet explorer, this is true of all routers though. The interface wizard is easy to use and well thought out. They are a lot easier to configure than other routers like the netgear and asus routers. The wireless is not bad as the other reviews make out, its definitely not great, but is above average. I have seen these routers inside metal cabinets and still having signal 10m away through two walls. You do need to narrow the 2.4Ghz band down to a 20MHz channel to avoid congestion from other neighboring WiFi. The 5G range is pretty good consideri...view more
