Mortal Kombat Review

If you're a gamer of a certain age say late twenties or older you'll remember Mortal Kombat as the brutal arcade fighting game which kicked up a storm in the nineties. But if youe a little younger, then your first taste could have been one of the less impressive 3D games.

No genuinely new characters; The story mode is well realised; A more flexible combo system

Short and easy single player campaign; Lots of cheap specials; Fatalities could be more brutal

Flawless Victory!

Mortal Kombat died a horrible death with the release of the forth game. It was the first MK to feature 3D visuals but it retained the 2D style of play. In a time where Tekken and Virtua Fighter\'s reigned supreme MK4 just didn\'t cut it.

Mortal Kombat Xbox 360, PS3 Review

Don't get too excited, but Mortal Kombat is back. It's easy to forget that a long time ago it used to be a good series of games. But like some other long running franchises it lost its way and became a bit of a joke.

Fighting Play your cards right, you'll live to talk about it. It's not been a good decade and a half for those of us who sided with over . Where Capcom's series has stayed at a consistently high quality, topping out with the sublime , the titles since have managed to get steadily worse with the last...

Mortal Kombat (360) – The Verdict

"FINISH HIM" – It's been nearly twenty years since we first heard that phrase emanating from our local arcades, pumping fistfuls of coins into the slot as we proved to the gathering crowds just who was better, Scorpion or Sub Zero.

"Mortal Kombat returns with a bang"

Having been a fan of the franchise since its inception in 1993, it was interesting to see it return to its MK2/3 roots for Mortal Kombat 9. The game retells the story of Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3. You start off playing as one character and then alternate, eventually ending up as Raiden.

Great story mode

The Challenge Ladder can be hard to complete

MORTAL KOMBAT!

if there's one thing about netherrealm studio, they pack out their games with content and fan/retro content. retro costumes, retro music, retro game modes and even fan characters ( all back from the arcade MK1-3) combine with new content make this a superb package.

What the series needed

This is the game all Mortal Kombat fans have been waiting for. Classic 2d fighting, every fighter you could want and many game modes, including the awesome story mode retelling the Mortal Kombat story and story ladder, as well as test your might/sight.

Mortal Kombat

Finally a good entry into this series. The rebirth is fantastic. With its Krazy new Kombat system, with Kombos glore and Fatalities, Babalities and Xray moves. The Gore is back and here to stay
