Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review
With 8th-gen Intel processors, all Surface Pro 6 models see decent performance but it’s hard to find any other changes from the previous two generations. That’s not a bad thing, and it’s still a good buy if you’re after a Windows 10 tablet that also works as a laptop, but if you can afford it consider the more recent Pro 7, which jumps to 10th gen chips and adds USB-C.

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review
If you need a versatile, creative machine with power and stamina, the Surface Pro 6 could be just what you’re looking for. It isn’t for everybody, though, and you might want to wait for the much-rumoured Apple iPad Pro before you make your decision.
Pros:
- Slick black finish
- Performance boost
- Pen is still brilliant
Cons:
- Can be expensive
- Type Cover not lap-friendly
- Missing some ports

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 review: Class-leader isn't without quirks
The sixth-gen Pro is the best to date thanks largely to improved battery life. However, the familiar form factor, bezels that are larger than competitors' equivalents, and lack of USB-C port feels like this Surface is holding back from what's around the corner.
Pros:
- Class-leading design for a 2-in-1
- Great screen resolution and brightness
- Plenty of power available from such a form factor
- Battery improved over previous Intel Core i model
Cons:
- Hardly any different to the 2017 version
- Still no USB-C port
- Keyboard not included
- Can get very expensive (to the point a laptop might make more sense)
