Great game for PS4

This is how a remaster of a game should be. Great lighting effects, great atmosphere and great story. Picked it up on PS4 and very glad I did. Plus you get two great games for one price.

Loved it and hated it.

The graphics are greatly improved over the PS3 and 360 version but the sounds have not been improved. I found the gunfire to be a bit flat and your foot steps make the unrealistic clicking noise carried over from the previous gen versions. If you haven't played the games they're immersive, atmospheric narrative driven, but linear shooters. I personally adore the setting and concept but didn't like the gameplay. It had too many scripted sections, too many dead if you're spotted stealth sections, and too much of the time you're being led, and hurried along, by an NPC. All I wanted to do was explore the tunnels and stations, alone and in my own time killing mutants. And then there's the awful gas mask mechanic which ruins the above ground sections, which are the only open areas of the games because you have to rush through them as quickly as possible or you'll run out of filters and have to restart the chapter. But I will definitely be buying Metro Exodus.

Metro revisited

There's not many games I play twice but I am glad I did for the PS4 re-make of Metro. The PS4 has graphically taken this game up to the next level making for a highly enjoyable and atmospheric experience. Very true to the original game but now with an extra mode that makes it more FPS based and helps the action flow. Well recommended.

Metro Redux review – apocalypse?remastered

One of the best remasters so far makes surviving the Russian apocalypse more horrifying than ever, although none of the changes address the games' more fundamental issues.

Great atmosphere building in both games, with enjoyable stealth and survival elements; Lovingly upgraded graphics and useful gameplay tweaks

The gunplay and artificial intelligence is still very basic, and the storytelling too obscure; There's a general clunkiness to 2033 that better graphics can't magic away

Metro: 2033 Redux (PlayStation 4) Review

What 4A Games managed to build with such limited resources is staggering. About half the budget of what most AAA games get, the absolute worst working conditions in a city that was rioting and no electricity (computers powered by gas generators) - it is a thin-air miracle that these talented and...

PS4 Review: Metro Redux

The original games made their mark well, but the Redux versions more than surpass them with improved gameplay and visuals. Including all the DLC for free makes it a must-have for anyone who missed out the first time, as well as those who want to relive the series with its new extras and...
