The graphics are greatly improved over the PS3 and 360 version but the sounds have not been improved. I found the gunfire to be a bit flat and your foot steps make the unrealistic clicking noise carried over from the previous gen versions. If you haven't played the games they're immersive, atmospheric narrative driven, but linear shooters. I personally adore the setting and concept but didn't like the gameplay. It had too many scripted sections, too many dead if you're spotted stealth sections, and too much of the time you're being led, and hurried along, by an NPC. All I wanted to do was explore the tunnels and stations, alone and in my own time killing mutants. And then there's the awful gas mask mechanic which ruins the above ground sections, which are the only open areas of the games because you have to rush through them as quickly as possible or you'll run out of filters and have to restart the chapter. But I will definitely be buying Metro Exodus.
