The Deadly Tower of Monsters

Dateline Hollywood! The Deadly Tower of Monsters, the newest downloadable title from ACE Team and ATLUS will be available for PC and PlayStation®4 this fall! Developed entirely in color, DTOM is an action-based adventure oozing with B-movie charm....

- Sci-Fi B movie artstyle; - Director commentary

- Lack of camera controls

The Deadly Tower of Monsters

Stop motion effects, laser guns, and cheesy acting all come together to make The Deadly Tower of Monsters a game with a lot of charm.

Large, varied tower to climb; humorous meta-narrative; style as an classic B-movie is spot-on

Combat is pretty bland; beginning of the game starts off slowly

The fifth time's the charm!

I've played every title released by Chile's ACE Team since they formed in 2009, and although I usually find their work interesting , it's all been significantly flawed in one way or another.

The director's commentary is brilliant

Missing the same high-altitude jump six times in a row

However, in recent years probably one of the most appealing and successful installments was Lego Marvel Super Heroes, which took the full Marvel comics universe and provided a huge amount of fun.

Lots of varied stages and gameplay mechanics; Classic recipe with a few good additions; Fluid action and performance

Poor voice acting from the movies; Limited roster of characters during story missions

Didn't keep me entertained for long.

Like most Lego games, it's missing a lot of depth and there's loads to do but there's no fun doing them.

The Deadly Tower Of Monsters review – so bad it's okay

B-movie by name and B-movie by nature, but there's still enjoyment to be had with the endearingly rubbish enemies and fun but vapid combat.

Competent action with some very enjoyable boss battles and amusing homages to old sci-fi movies; The tower-climbing concept is used in some interesting ways

There's nothing very unique about the gameplay, and the level and set piece design is workmanlike; Director commentary often isn't very funny

Lego Marvel's Avengers review

Brimming with confidence and overflowing with unlockables, the latest Lego Marvel game is a content-rich, breezily enjoyable placeholder.

It must have been six to eight months already, because it's once again time for me to review a LEGO game on the Mac from Feral Interactive. Feral has been one of the best Mac developers for many years now, and they are really good at porting games from other platforms over to the Mac so we, too, can...

LEGO Marvel's Avengers PS4 Review

Full disclaimer: I love Marvel comics, and I love LEGO and its many videogame spinoffs. Yet for some reason, 2013's LEGO Marvel Superheroes didn't grab me the way I thought it would.

Avengers Assemble! - LEGO Marvel's Avengers review

By now, most gamers are familiar with the whimsical nature of LEGO games. TT Games takes popular franchises and gives them the LEGO treatment, respecting the source material while adding in some lighthearted humor.

Great Marvel Cinematic Universe feel; Combat feels authentic and varied; Huge list of unlockables

Odd selection of playable characters; Voice clips don't always fit well
