best of 6 speakers I'd auditioned. A finely crafted piece of art and conversation starter to boot. Just wish that it wouldn't shut down after 15 mins of disuse when plugged in.

Sounds great. My brother practices with Marshall equipment and when I saw this, I wanted it knowing that awesome sound Marshall makes. Not disappointed in it. My only complaint is that the charging cable is for household plug ins. I wish it had plug ins for car cigarette chargers as well.

After a trawl of electrical shops we compared the sound quality across 30+ speakers at the higher end of the market. This speaker had the most natural sound and pleasing tone. It is also small enough to pack for travelling and the tone/volume knobs can be pressed so they are flush.

Received the Stockwell for Christmas, nothing short of amazing, could not be happier. Love this speaker!

Could use stronger bass

Just keep in mind that while it sounds great, you cant use a USB cord to charge it, or plug it in to a 12v cig outlet. You'll need to carry a round the 15v wall charger with you. So not that great to travel with.

At moderate volumes and on genres that lack deep bass, we love the Marshall Stockwell-but the distortion at higher volumes is a bummer. If you're searching for a speaker with the Stockwell's looks and EQ options-but no distortion-the more expensive Marshall Kilburn is one of our favorites.

Despite a look that some might describe as gimmicky, the Marshall product lineup, modeled after the iconic amps, rarely fails to deliver solid audio. The company impressed us earlier this year with the excellent-sounding Kilburn, so we had high hopes for the $249 Stockwell, a portable Bluetooth speaker with the typical Marshall look, as well as solid audio performance at moderate volumes, and adjustable treble and bass. But some distortion issues at high volumes hold it back from a higher score. One quick note: The Stockwell is available in two versions—one with a flip cover that acts as a kickstand, and one sans cover that costs $229. We reviewed the version with the cover, but the two systems are sonically identical.
