This amp replaced a vintage Marantz integrated amp that finally died after forty plus years. This amp has about half the power that my beloved amp had but has plenty enough to power to easily power my Epicure 20 + speakers that are getting ready to turn forty years old themselves.
Sounds great and I love the simple blue lights
This is very similar to the Marantz PM6005, but without a DAC built it, so it only has analog inputs and one phono input. I already had an Emotiva digital converter, so I opted to go with this model because it is about $200 less expensive than the 6005.
This amp is wonderful.I am using it with a Pro Ject Essectial ii turntable, B&W DM302's (on loan from a friend) and QED SILVER ANNIVERSARYxt cable.I am new to the world of hi-fi but I would whole heartedly recommend this amp.
simplicity; quality of build; sound
Very pleased, sounds clear, rich and full to my ears. Solidly built and easy to use. Using it with a Rega Planar turntable and sounds fantastics, even through my little Monitor Audi Radius 90 book shelf speakers.
Superb
works well with mp3 player. it has to be plug in with rca jacks. sounds great with book shelf speakers
It's no accident Marantz has established itself as the dominant player in sub-$1000 stereo components. The company has a talent for trickling down technology and performance from their reference line on a consistent basis, perhaps due to a well organized design department, or economies of scale.
