MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X Review

KitGuru says: MSI has delivered a superb blend of low noise, excellent cooling and premium build quality with the GTX 1060 Gaming X. Any GTX 1060 shortlist would be incomplete without it.

Excellent balance of cooling and noise; Keen pricing; Stylish design; backplate and RGB functionality

Out-of-the-box overclock should be higher; Colour scheme isn't neutral

MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G Review

The asking price of £300 for this card is undoubtedly steep given that GTX 1060 pricing starts at £230 – that's a 30 percent increase. Clearly, MSI is asking a lot of its customers and the GTX 1060 Gaming X, much like the GTX 1060 Strix OC, is not positioned as a bang per buck card.

MSI fills out its GeForce GTX 10 series line up with the GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G, offering awesome 60FPS+ gaming at 1080p and 1440p, all while being dead silent. There's some OC headroom as well, and a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. MSI continues kicking GPU ass!

With the release of the GTX 1060 the world is going wild as the bar for mid-range gaming has been brought up once again. Ushering a new benchmark for graphic cards at its price range, reaching performances that were only capable in high-end graphic cards in the past.

MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G

As you might expect, the MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G is going to outperform a card that comes with lower baseline core clock speeds, even if they are at the top end of the Gaming App range of speeds by default.

Factory overclocked; Twin Frozr VI cooling; Low to no noise; VR Ready; Gaming App; Pricing; MSI Gaming APP

SLI not supported

Its been around 15 years since I last built my own PC and it feels like a decade. When I got down to choosing a graphics card, I didn't want to break the bank but wanted

Great performance for the price you pay; VR-Ready; Easy overclocking; MSI software means easy further tuning; Great looking graphics card; RGB LED effect; Runs cool; Little to no noise

Premium you pay for the Gaming X range

So far i'm very happy with this buy. Runs GTA V at ultra settings between 40 and 60 FPS, doesnt even seem to go over 65 degres. i was due for an upgrade from my old 560Ti and this was by far the best budget card with pretty good performance i could get.

-Runs my games at ultra (GTA V; BF4; BF1; -Super quiet; -Looks good; -Price; -Runs cold

-Doesn't come with PCI-E 8pin connector

Great Video Card!

A great preforming solid and quiet card with some extra's, like the LEDs.

Great performance, 1080p playing all my games maxed out and usually over 100 fps still; Card is very quiet and stays cool; Some funky LED's that can do a zillion different things/colours if that's your thing :

No complaints yet (Card is 2 weeks old at this point
