This router replaces a WRT54G that finally went after more than 10 years of heavy use. As always, if it's Linksys it has to be good. But why did you make it so difficult to administer the thing?

Purchased this router 2 years ago, and it has lost some of its functionality. Specifically, it was unable to transmit internet speeds above 20 Mbps even though the speeds going into the router from the modem tested at about 65 Mbps, sometimes higher.

The EA4500 was easy to setup right out of the box (with the aid of the accompanying DVD). Performance was fast and feature-laden. We never had electrical problems when we first moved here but several housing developments subsequently sprang up and added to our grid.

I purchased this mostly for the extended range & new features. Range was outstanding, much better than my Dlink DIR-655, and data throughput was very good with my laptop, far exceeding my Dlink. Now the bad news. iPhone & iPad would not connect.

many issues won't work with some devices

Most of the time devices are not able to connect to internet. When directly connected to modem there is internet connectivity but when connecting through Linksys router wifi devices do not get internet connectivity.

Had older G-band Linksys router that worked for years. Wasn't able to achieve the faster speeds w/o the "N" band. So far, like the speed and more range!

The set up was easy and coverage is good in my 2 story house with basement.

Easy To Set Up; Reliable connection

I purchased the EA4500 a year ago (27-September2013) at the advice of Cisco/Linksys customer support.I called them when the old Cisco router I had was not ‘playing nice with my Cisco Range Extender (RE1000).They said the Range Extender was most compatible with the EA4500.

Intermittent Connectivity; inability to stream media; lackluster customer support

I previously had to restart my router every few days and didn't realize how slow my internet was until making this upgrade. Easy setup and security feature enabling. I also installed the mobile app and am able to make changes remotely.
