Cisco Linksys EA2700 App-Enabled N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router with Gigabit and USB

The Cisco EA2700 ($99.99 list) is the entry model of the new Linksys EA series routers. These routers, in terms of hardware, aren't significantly different from the Linksys E-series routers. Instead, most changes involve software.

Dual-band; Decent throughput; Very easy setup; Designed to work with upcoming cloud software and apps

SSID stopped broadcasting, which required a reboot; Throughput not as good as some Cisco Linksys E-series routers

Router

It would have been easier if we had only one computer on the old network to start with. Also, If we would have the default name later it would have been easier to network the other computers and printers. Otherwise it was very easy.

A great, Gigabit Router and WiFi AP

When I upgraded my cable modem, I wanted to be sure my network speeds were optimal, meaning I needed a Gigabit Ethernet Router. Of course, I also want Wireless N WiFi. For the price, this fit that bill and then some. Easy to set up, fast, no problem on my home network.

Ease of setup

No place for external antennae

Used to replace an old D-link at Home. I really enjoyed the Guest access for people comming at home. I was a bit uncomfortable giving my wireless password to people visiting me but that way they can only access my internet and not my shared folders. Set-up is a breeze, stable, do hot overheat.

Guest Access; ease of installation; price point

Awesome router.

Works very well. excellent router. Dual band is perfect for my requirements. Setup is easy and can make changes on my smartphone. Did see an increase in download speeds compared to my old Asus dual band router.

" My new Linsys is a hugh upgrade "

I had netgear, it worked for a while. Now I know what a good router is supposed to do. My new Linksys handles all my needs. Low profile and so quick. As I was hooking it up, my laptop reconized it right away. Its worry free, which means a lot. Thanks HP for helping me with my purchase.

Slow 5 GHz performance

I get 90 Mbps down on the 2.4 GHz band, 25 Mbps on the 5 GHz band while sitting 10 feet away from it in the same room. Does not go very far due to having no exterior antennas. "Smart app dashboard" doesn't work well since being bought by Belkin.

Great Router

Gave my internet a great boost of speed. As far as I know the CiscoCloud is not availiable yet, but that is the main reason i bought this router. Very light weight and has many vents to prevent overheating.

Not for me...

I find that this router slows down my internet... when connected directly to my ISP I can get 24mbit down 2.3mbit up... consistantly. As soon as I'm connecting through the router (wirelessly, or wired) my down speed fluctuates between 9mbit and 15mbit. Tried multiple firmware but same thing.
