Lenovo ThinkPad X1 review

It's not often that we get excited about a laptop aimed primarily at business users, but Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 is an exception; the 13.3in ultra-portable might be less than 2cm thick, but it still squeezes in some clever features and plenty of high performance hardware.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 notebook review

It's easy to fall in love with the ThinkPad X1, and we haven't been able to escape its charms. Everything from its ultra-thin magnesium-alloy frame to its smooth rubberised shell and its contoured keys oozes class and sophistication.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Review

There has been a massive increase in the number of thin and light 13.3in ultraportables coming onto the market recently. We've seen the likes of the and , the and of course the to name but a few, not to mention all the new models we saw at IFA.

Durable and rugged; Gorilla glass screen protection; Spillproof; backlit keyboard; Excellent connectivity

Not the slimmest or lightest; Weak battery life; No IPS screen option; Reflective screen

Lenovo ThinkPad X1: Review

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is clearly a product for a consumer business, so a strong focus on quality, neglecting the design slightly. The strengths are a body strong and resistant to falls, an ergonomic keyboard and spill-resistant, the fingerprint reader to protect your data from prying eyes, HDMI,...

RAM, USB 3.0 port, memory card reader, fingerprint reader, spill-resistant keyboard; Chassis resistant to falls, Bluetooth and optional WiMax

Internal memory; not eye-catching Design

Lenovo ThinkPad X1

Lenovo's second stab at the versatile ThinkPad X1 Tablet is so subtle, you'd never be able to tell from the looks of it. The latest model of the high-end two-in-one hybrid has new seventh-gen Intel processors (up to Core i7) and optional WiGig and LTE-A Wireless WAN connectivity.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 has a sharp screen and offers flexibility through optional modular accessories; Its excellent detachable keyboard is one of the best of its kind

It has below-average battery life; It's expensive considering its performance

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

There are laptops, and then there are ThinkPads. Robust notebooks with a soft touch raven black finish and the best keyboard in the business. So when Lenovo releases a ThinkPad Ultrabook, we take notice. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is Lenovo's first official ThinkPad Ultrabook.

Lovely design, 3 lb; weight, high res display, superb keyboard

No dock or battery slice options; battery life just average

great product, travel friendly

A great business laptop. I wouldn't get it as a personal though. All of the things that you want in a business laptop with none of the creature comforts of a full-sized personal.

Great business notebook; Super thin, super light, fast; I love the feel of the keyboard; The battery charges fast and the display is nice; DisplayPort for the home dock, solid state drive, user friendly feeler pad, blue tooth, 3G sim card slot, usb 3.0, and dual band wifi.

Being so small, the feeler pad is directly under your palms; I had to get used to the feel of that; The charger port is fairly large, about usb sized, which can be mistaken for a usb port in the dark; That is something that you just have to get used to; The battery advertised 8 hours, I think.

Review Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Ultrabook

Lenovo doesn't clear the field without a fight and, in our opinion, again faces the customer with a premium and virtually complete business ultrabook . The competition has failed to release an equal, mobile slim device to date.

High CPU and application performance; Light; rigid casing; Quiet; even relatively quiet during load; Big touchpad; Integrated 3G modem; Backlit keyboard; Feedback strong input devices; Good battery life; Short battery charge time; AR coated touchscreen; Unobtrusive; handy; very portable and yet as...

Tight viewing angles compared with IPS; CPU throttling during extreme load; Few interfaces; no docking port; High price; The matte touchscreen is top-notch compared with direct business contenders.
